As an Avenger, Daken is supposed to be one of the good guysکto the public, anyway. But when a tape revealing his true colors is leaked onto the internet, Daken will be forced to clean up his act...and confront the possibility that being a hero might just be more difficult than being the villain! As usual I enjoyed this comic. I've never made a secret about my feelings towards Daken, and so far this series has been consistently good since Daken took over as the title character. So this issue, Daken leaks the footage of himself going on a rampage in an effort to further infuriate/discredit Osborn, he also sends Moonstone a book along with a flower as he continues to draw her closer to him and further from Osborn, all while continuing to push Osborn's buttons... That's what I like the most about this series, while Osborn may fancy himself in complete control of things, Daken seems to be the one playing the role of the puppeteer. Read Full Review
I was about to say it was nice to see a relative scaling back of the "Daken manipulates everyone" theme from the first arc, but then I realized that the same amount of manipulation is happening – just the source has changed. I'm not to the point of giving up hope on the series though. I just wish Way and Liu would speed up the slow build a bit. This isn't a beloved established character they're writing. Playing coy with major plot points is bound infuriate more readers than they intrigue, since their fuse for such tactics is much shorter for Daken than it would be for someone like Spider-Man. This is a fun read, even with the plot holes. While this issue is a step down from those previous, it does set up a lot of great beats to be picked up next time. Plus, it features one of my favorite scenes in the week in which Daken causes a girl to run in front of a moving bus, only then to help an elderly bystander. That alone is worth checking out. Daken continues to impress me as a character, but I'm not sure how long that will last before I get bored and move on. Way and Liu need to do something with this plot soon to reassure readers that it is actually going somewhere. Read Full Review
Im not a fan of Segovias work. He makes womens breast stupidly huge and draws their hair as floating in the wind, even inside a closed office. His storytelling is all over the place as he favours expressing and showing off his art work and weird angles as opposed to sticking to the script and delivering something the average reader can decipher without having the rebuild a puzzle that ultimately doesnt make sense.
