As I mentioned… this issue hits the ground running and it hints at no reduction in that pace. This feels like it is setting up the bigger picture… but it's already crammed a lot into the pages to start with. If you love a bit of Deadpool but enjoy the thought of some other Marvel characters sharing the pages then grab a copy… it could be a fun, wild ride ahead! Read Full Review
Deadpool Team-Up #1 sends Deadpool on a wild and somewhat random adventure to retrieve dragon eggs to get himself out of trouble. Rob LIefeld's art looks as good as ever, and the script is geared for wild fun from start to finish. That said, some of the plot developments range from mildly random to outrageously random, so it's best to turn off your brain before cracking the cover. Read Full Review
This issue holds together quite well, despite an almost-complete lack of backgrounds and never *quite* managing to capture the Ryan Reynolds-style quipping dialogue, with teases at interesting things to come. Read Full Review
Plot
Deadpool gets into trouble with the Nakatori ninja clan, but a princess offers him the chance to make peace with this clan if he finds the dragon egg.
Deadpool meets Dragon Lord, who is about to regain control of the dragons thanks to the help of Deadpool and a friend... Wolverine.
Dragon Lord offers Wolverine and Deadpool to go to another dimension where they keep dragon eggs, from there appears Crystar, who protects this realm.
Explosive first chapter of this fast-paced story with non-stop action. Rob Liefeld has a free rein to his creativity for this powerful story.
Art
It is very dynamic, it has the imprint of Rob Liefeld's powerful stroke, each panel is a visual delight and a r more
Art is stiff plot is dumb
Dove into the shit pile that is Rob Liefeld's creative output under the pretense of the threat that he'd massacre Spider-Gwen. Like a car accident, I had to see it. Spider-Gwen does not appear in this issue.
I picked this up because I liked the Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti variant cover, but then I opened it up and I saw something I never expected. Story & Art by Rob Liefeld ?! Written by him too? Dear God 🤦♂️ I gave it a chance, but I just don't like the art and the continuity panel to panel and the story seemed pretty dumb.
