DEADPOOL VS. CARNAGE knows exactly what kind of limited series it is. Many of us want to simply see these two crazy characters go at it and Cullen Bunn is clearly having a lot of fun running with the idea. The plot itself may not be that strong and the laughs aren't nearly as solid as his previous work with Deadpool (NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEADPOOL was phenomenal), but if you want to see these two duke it out and get an ample dose of wackiness on the side, then this is something you're most likely going to enjoy. Not essential reading, but certainly lots of fun.
It's harmless fun, kind of like watching Freddy Vs. Jason. Or Jaws vs Orca. It's a fight the reader wants to see, even if it's not entirely well thought out. There are some funny moments, it seems like carnage is kind of losing his crazy cool bravado. This will definitely be one of those runs that lasts at most four issues and it will be wrapped up in a pretty little bow. Am I going to keep reading? Of course! I want to see who wins, the shark or...I mean Deadpool or Carnage.
