The story starts to be absolutely disturbing, something very different from what we are used to see from Marvel.
I consider it one of the best written issues of its year of release
Illyana strikes out at Cat after she eats her pet Squidge, which thereafter alienates the two. Storm warns Illyana to not attempt to destroy Belasco until the time is right at the risk of losing her soul. Illyana's mutant power to create "stepping discs" manifests itself. Illyana witnesses a younger Storm try to destroy Belasco, but she becomes corrupted in the process. She then sees the older Storm struck from behind by Cat while she is confronting Belasco. Illyana fights against Cat & snaps her neck. Belasco tell Illyana that he is going to offer Storm's soul to the Dark Ones as a sacrifice, therefore damning her soul. (Cover date: February, 1984)
