Steve Behling & Riccardo Secchi, credited with the plotting and scripting of the comic respectively, dont take the concept too seriously, and thats the right call. Its inherently very silly and they deliver accordingly. Artist Lorenzo Pastrovicchio, however, does take it very seriously and as such provides perfectly whimsical visuals that will be appreciated by children and adults alike. Donald looks like Donald here, and that may be a given, but theres no attempt made at subversion or trying to be unique with the material, which is another correct call. Color artist Lucio Ruvidotti enhances Pastrovicchios art with candy bright hues you would possibly expect from an old timey comic like the ones this is riffing on. What If Donald Duck Became Thor? #1 is just a very good, clean, fun package that could be enjoyed by anyone. Read Full Review

    Plot
Donald and his nephews went to Norway to dig at an archaeological site. Donald has an accident with his shovel and decides to take a break when some spaceships arrive, they are the Stone Ducks from Saturn, who are about to invade our planet. Donald escapes and hides in a cave where he gets a wooden staff that when hit, transforms into the Mighty Thor.

Donald can barely control Mjolnir but his powers prove to be key to stopping this army, even rainwater is important.

This retelling of the origin of Thor that Stan Lee and Jackc Kirby created in the comic Journey into Mystery #83 from 1962, of course this version includes some parody, comedy and a lot of respect for the original classic.
