Although scattered in its narrative, "Marvel Team-Up #4" brings to light an interesting discussion surrounding cultural identity, making this issue truly worthwhile. Read Full Review
A snappy and delightful adventure, "Marvel Team-Up" #4 is classic feel-good superheroics. Read Full Review
The new arc of Marvel Team-Up employs Kamala as a lens, focusing attention on Carol's labyrinthine heritage. It's a visually-appealing story and the characters sound right, but the task ahead is daunting. What are the odds that a story that opens with a "Paul Blart" gag is going to finish with a satisfying exploration of Carol's complicated Kree backstory? I would love for subsequent issues to serve me up some crow … but I don't think they will. Read Full Review
Although there is some heart in this issue, the story as a whole feels flimsy and lightweight; as a result, the final page reveal falls a bit flat. The relationship between Kamala and Carol is easily the best thing about this comic book, but it is not enough to make it more than just ‘okay' as a reading experience. Read Full Review
Marvel Team-Up #4 was a solid start to this series' second story arc. Clint McElroy did a good job developing the chemistry between Captain Marvel and Ms. Marvel. Not everything about this issue clicked, specifically with key choices with how Carol Danvers was portrayed. That said if you are a fan of Captain Marvel or Ms. Marvel then Marvel Team-Up #4 is something you should check out. Read Full Review
Marvel Team-Up #4 is a better example of how to discourage new readers (of all ages) rather than invite them in. It could sorely use some of the confidence and charm on display earlier this month in Journey Into Mystery. Read Full Review
Some forgettable humor puffs up a plot that's rather thin and problematic. It delivers some basic entertainment, but if you're pressed for resources (time, money, etc), this should definitely be at the bottom of your "gotta read" list.
This was a bit rough. Ms. Marvel and Captain Marvel are both written well enough, and so are their interactions. But everything surrounding those are rough. The art also isn't the best. The cliffhanger reveal doesn't make me excited. It leaves me on edge. If this comic ends up going through with what that last page suggests, this story will be dreadful. But if it doesn't, it'll be obvious. I didn't hate this. But I didn't like it either.
"Oh cap-- --That's a ba-a-d ideas. "
Oof. Didn’t enjoy this. The writing was very rough.
