Eve Ewing's new Photon series continues to be a pleasant read, one that new and old fans of the character can find something fun to hang onto. Read Full Review
Overall, this issue doesn't re-contextualize the rest of the mini-series in a way that would have me yelling from my soapbox to go back and pickup the previous two issues. However, for fans of Monica Rambeau who may have been hesitant about picking up this book, I can strongly recommend it on the character front alone. Whatever I may find disengaging about the story's structure, Ewing does have such an excellent way of presenting Monica and her struggles that I will continue reading the book until its end. This issue goes in some even weirder places than last issue, and I'm afraid it's leaving the title character behind. Read Full Review
To me, this series is slowly but surely evolving into a fun story. From character study to backstory recap, at last it gets down to real plot development. Monica gets plenty to do besides react, the new alien race is cool, and the art lends everything an air of distinctive talent.
Disjointed. Not the character I know. 3 issues of nothing. Monica Rambeau deserves better.
