Black Nerd Problems - Lauren Bullock Mar 30, 2016

Though the Killer Folk continue to be my least favorite part of the series, at only three pages their presence definitely feels less oppressive this round and serve as a great tool for developing the characters of Lunella's family whose protective instincts prove right after all. I'm interested to see if in future issues they're able to figure out that Lunella has been disobeying their parameters once more, or if Lunella is actually able to keep her secret identity safe. What kind of abilities is Moon Girl capable of now that she's made the decision not to hold back anymore? This issue seems to be teasing at some exciting new developments in the near future. Comicosity - Allen Thomas Apr 2, 2016

Its taken some time to build Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur to this point, and issue #5 was a natural end to the first arc of the series. There is definitely no lack of precocious charm or imagination as Lunella asserts herself as a hero and friend to her friendly neighborhood tyrannosaurus. The thematic elements in the writing and art were a great choice for this issue, and they help both of the characters appear important and powerful and reveal the dynamic between the two characters as they continue their adventure. This series has been great since its first issue and this installment was no exception. Read Full Review

Comics Bulletin - Chase Magnett Apr 8, 2016

The unfinished feel to some of the script and artwork doesn't detract from the consistent feel of fun though. Seeing a young woman confidently aid in a dinosaur's escape is an idea too much fun to resist and this creative team isn't throwing up any barriers. Devil Dinosaur and Moon Girl are bright characters charging through pages to an uncertain future. It's an adventure that any young person would be happy to engage with while imagining a dinosaur pal of their own. Read Full Review

While this premise of Lunella's world needs to be built out more, Natacha Bustos and Tamra Bonvillain make every panel a delight. Read Full Review
