DEAD SOULS Part 2
• THE NEW MUTANTS head to an arctic research base where everyone has died under mysterious circumstances.
• But while they hunt for answers, something is hunting them.
• Plus, a scared boy in the woods comes face-to-face with a familiar face from the NEW MUTANTS' past. And it doesn't go well.

NEW MUTANTS: DEAD SOULS #2 is a high action, fun story that does a better job than the previous issue of capturing its lead protagonists. While the villain feels a bit vague and situational, the overall story and art feel very satisfying. Read Full Review
While not completely unexpected, it is an X-Men book, this type of story could be disappointing for those seeking out the chilling vibes the first issue produced. If you were to liken issue one to Rachel Rising or The October Faction, issue two feels more like a cross between Nextwave and a Jason Aaron Thor story. Read Full Review
This issue gives better insight into how this team works together while opening some new and interesting mysteries to come. Read Full Review
The New Mutants #2 doesn't have a plot that will shock or particularly grip readers, but the playful chemistry of the team and hilarity of Tabitha Smith make this issue a worthwhile ride. Read Full Review
New Mutants: Dead Souls is what you get when you cross superheroes and The X-Files, and it works fantastically well! Having this odd group of mutants investigating these paranormaltype mysteries makes this series a joy to read. The characters are well written and engaging, while the art gives the series an ominous atmosphere.New Mutants: Dead Souls #2 was a lot of fun and has me looking forward to the rest of the series! The second issue of New Mutants: Dead Souls maintains a lot of the potential from the first issue without really building upon it. Read Full Review
A comic that has the makings of something great but needs to find its footing. Older fans will probably get more millage out of this than new fans. Read Full Review
This title is keeping the decent team members decently relevant finally all this time - for the most part since Secret Wars.
The New New Mutants fail to gel as a team as their second mission takes them into the Arctic. The creative team is doing a better job of pulling together than the mutants - the character-to-character friction is intentional and conveyed well. The less complicated setting also favors the art style, and this a stronger issue all around when compared to the first one. A wonderful twist ending hooks my interest hard, and now I'm definitely looking forward to the next installment.
