The Weekly Crisis - Grant McLaughlin Feb 5, 2012

This is a beautiful, well-written, and engaging issue that demonstrates just how well Ruck and Checchetto work together. Rucka's trust in letting Checchetto's pictures tell the story pays off over and over again as the issue progresses. I never thought I could like the Punisher this much, but here we are. Forces Of Geek - Atlee Greene Feb 3, 2012

"Dead Winter" is the perfect name for this issue as the shroud of death has emerged among a cold, dark and snowy New York as things will get exponentially worse before anyone can think of them getting better. Read Full Review

Punisher Central - Neil Byce Feb 1, 2012

ssue No. 8 is a solid entry to this run of the Punisher! It provides readers with a moody atmosphere, a tense standoff, and a trap that seems to be set for both Frank Castle and his new ally. It shows that Rucka has carefully planned out the direction he wants to go in and I am personally excited to see if this run can continue the momentum that it has built up to create one of the best titles on comic book store shelves today! This "Punisher" book, like the recently relaunched (and soon-to-be-connected) "Daredevil" series, has given me a new appreciation for the character while deepening my admiration of Greg Rucka's ability as a writer. Like "Daredevil," if you're not reading "Punisher," you're missing out on some of the consistently best stuff that Marvel is putting on the new comics racks. Read Full Review

    Outer Realm Comics - M S R Feb 11, 2012

A simplistic, but above average plot is elevated to higher plateaus by the outstanding art effort from Checchetto and Hollingsworth. A $2.99 title with quality this good is practically a godsend. This reviewer hopes that the plot kicks into high gear in future issues, for while the series is undoubtedly great in its current phase, it has the potential to be so much more. At the moment, though, there is plenty to like about the title- that's for sure! Read Full Review

Comic Vine - Matt Demers Feb 1, 2012

While I don't have any major complaints about this book, it still doesn't get a perfect grade because I can't help but shake the feeling that this is a very standard Punisher story. There weren't any points that made me bolt upright and say "Man, this is unbelievable work!" Read Full Review
