A Comic Book Blog - Geoff Arbuckle
Feb 24, 2011It looks like Brubaker's last two issues will help put a bow on some of the loose ends. Looks like we're going to get some explanation of what happened to John Steele to take him down this more villainous path. I can't help but to say that series is still miles ahead of Avengers and New Avengers. Read Full Review

Comic Book Resources - James Hunt
Feb 28, 2011Pacing aside, there's little to complain about, though. It's still the best of the relaunched Avengers books, and I suspect it's going to read even better as a collection. With one more issue to go, all we can do is hope that Brubaker makes the most of it. Read Full Review

Of the current major Avengers titles it's been the most hit-and-miss so far. We'll have to see if the things continue to improve, but this one is worth a look. Read Full Review

The Weekly Crisis - Ryan K Lindsay
Feb 26, 2011Just flipping these pages will give you the overall idea of what happens here. Everything was set up and here we get it knocked down. Overall, the Secret Avengers mythos is changed but it doesn't feel like five issues worth of movement. The next oneshot will be Read Full Review

Well Brubaker's execution is good but I don't care for John Steele or the Shadow Council. Hopefully either Fear Itself or Nick Spencer (or both!) can fix this book up
