If there was any Secret Wars tie-in that you could pick up and read on its own, Siege would be that mini series. One that plays off of the imperfection of Battleworld. That these people would by choice or banishment spend their final days fighting off hordes of creatures and nightmares that threaten to tear the world apart if they were to pass the wall. Not to mention the pain of realizing the truth behind why you are giving up your life to protect something and someone who doesn't really care about you. I guess I'm a sucker for Gillen's writing. Because this series has left me with nothing but a huge smile on my face! What a way to end!!!!! And the fact that this series is HEAVILY tied in to the main story is even more awesome! Gillen brings Brand, Thanos, DaVinci, Kang, and America Chavez to life with his witty but action packed banter! And props to Andrade and Choo those full color pages are epic especially the last page with Brand's final thoughts are epic!!!
