I'm sure some people will write this off as self-indulgent twaddle which has only its pretty visuals going for it. Truth be told, I'm surprised that I've enjoyed the series as much as I have. However, if you're happy to read a simple story which makes good use of its central characters but which is more about emotions and ideas than it is about plot or action then it might be worth giving Silver Surfer: Requiem a try. A modern Death of Captain Marvel. This is everything Stan Lee created Silver Surfer to be. The encapsulation of peace and pureness, and don’t get me started with Ribic’s art. A simple story for sure, yet still a masterpiece. Wish Straczynski did more work with Marvel I’ve enjoyed this his Thor run and Fantastic Four. Requiem is the best Silver Surfer comic not named Parable
A beautiful end to the story of a tragic but noble character.
Not as satisfying of a conclusion as the first two issues were, but still good.
