Foches art is fun and engaging. I liked the visual style and the backgrounds a lot. Read Full Review
If you like seeing heroes fight heroes, pickup Spider-Man Annual 2023 to see if Contest of Chaos is your thing. It's also exceptional when it comes to Spider-Man, who is quirky, goofy, and funny in the best of ways. I can't say I know what this crossover is trying to do, though, so temper your expectations. Spider-Man Annual 2023 #1 needed more. Its a book that establishes a larger concept for a crossover. Heroes fighting heroes. A fun, energetic idea that draws in the crowds. Read Full Review
As another chapter in the "Chaos" event, it's okay. Nothing too surprising or interesting, but there's at least a little fun to be had. Read Full Review
Spider-Man Annual #1 begins the Contest of Chaos crossover with a contrived fight, a nonsensical plot, and terrible dialog. Whatever the goal of this issue, the net result is a dumb waste of time. Read Full Review
I thought this was fun. I think Stephanie Phillips did a good job with Spidey's voice. I just wish there was more meat on the story bone.
Charming storytelling makes up for a frustratingly vague premise here. Spidey and Wolverine are characterized in an entertaining (albeit not deep) way. The art is sharp, clear, and dynamic, speeding the contrived conflict along. Mr. Foche does sterling work on that magic city.
Though I wish I knew more about Agatha's dumb scheme at this point (or maybe I don't?), I'm provisionally on board with the Contest of Chaos as long as future issues turn out as fast and fun as this one.

Meh, its whatever. the art and plot is kinda serviceable, but its nothing to write home about.
