I've been going between hot and cold on the series for a little while now but if future issues can be as enjoyable as this one was, I'll be more forgiving to some of the stuff I didn't enjoy as much. Because this ended up feeling like more of a bottle episode, it's hard to say how the rest of this story may go. This series has covered a lot of important events already in fifteen issues, and while I don't think it's always managed to completely stick the landing, I'm still looking forward to seeing what happens next. Serving as a way to fill us in some on how Vader got connected with the Crimson Dawn folks while also realizing that Bokku is playing his own larger game against Jabba, there's a good bit going on. Vader has a regular presence but plays more of a Palpatine role to Ochi, which gives Ochi plenty of time to dominate the story. And he's still an odd character to me but one that has grown on me well as time has gone on. Pak keeps this moving well and it's helping to build up the cast and mythology of this book just right. And a lot of what's working continues to be thanks to Ienco as his designs and action pages are just fantastic. Read Full Review
Ochi of Bestoon does get his chance to shine here with Darth Vader only turning up when most of the enemies had already been cut down or they thought they had been. The problem with a lot of these characters they feature are not in the main movies so you know they are going to meet their end sooner or later when Darth Vader no longer has a use for them. Ochi has had a passionate following among fans over the years, thanks to how little we knew about him, with this issue being a must-read for fans of the character, which also helps offer exposition for what's to come as the "War of the Bounty Hunters" event keeps heating up. Read Full Review
That said the book still suffers from two core issues. The first remains that Ochi is still not quirky enough to hold our interest. He does not feel like a true threat to Vader's power and does not serve the role of sidekick well. Secondly as mention is the larger crossover entirely side-tracking all the supporting books and making them feel redundant rather than adding anything new. Read Full Review
