An outstanding conclusion that wraps up all the plot threads, while teasing the next. Recommended for all Star Wars fans. Read Full Review
It's not enough to get me back into Star Wars, but it did give my inner six-year-old some peace. Read Full Review
If there's a book I look forward to more each month than Darth Vader, I can't think of it. This series just hits the right notes each month with what it does in building a larger narrative around one of the most iconic characters of the modern era – while still allowing him to be fully of mystery. We aren't connecting with him, we aren't empathizing with him and we're certainly not in favor of his methods or results. Yet it's a fascinating character study to see him moving through the places and people of power while orchestrating his own mission as we think of the other events that are playing out in other books – and eventually the films. It's an incredibly delicate balancing act and one that both Gillen and Larroca are pulling off beautifully. This is a great issue from top to bottom and the first twelve issues as a whole get an A+ from me. Great writing, fantastic artwork, an excellent experience that expands wonderfully. Read Full Review
A flatter end for a high-quality series to date, albeit one that is consciously holding the reins tight until it can launch the next arc. Read Full Review
As for the comic's action, the fight against the Plasma Devils allows the Dark Lord of the Sith to work out some built-up aggression. Not only does he take out the group single handedly he even destroys an escaping Y-Wing by chucking his lightsaber at it in mid-flight. It just goes to prove you don't mess with Darth Vader. Worth a look. Read Full Review
Darth Vader #12 may not have been on the same level as the last issue, but it was still a decentconclusion to the second arc. It also sets Vader Down up beautifully, as we question just what will happen to the Sith Lord next. Read Full Review
This issue wraps up Kieron Gillen and Salvador Larroca's second story arc while also transitioning into the upcoming "Vader Down" crossover. Unfortunately, for several reason this issue serves as a fairly disappointing climax. Read Full Review
A boring issue that's bumped Darth Vader's powers up so high he seems impossibly unstoppable. It might be believable but it doesn't feel earned. Read Full Review
