I do find the current setup pretty compelling though, and the writers have done a great job at making Tolvans situation something that were following alongside Aphras. Im really looking forward to the continuation of their story. I definitely recommend this comic to anyone who wants a fun sci-fi adventure and more expansion the secular/historical/criminal end of the Star Wars universe. Read Full Review
This series continually proves that the Star Wars universe is big enough for characters that have never been on the big or small screen. This is the most perfect issue of this series yet. The story is a screamer and the artwork is fantastic. You don't know Star Wars unless you know Doctor Aphra. Read Full Review
While I've had mixed feelings on the Doctor Aphra series to date and that continues here I'm definitely curious to see where it goes from here. The thing that it can and should be doing is exploring new areas and expanding on the galaxy that it plays in and it's having fun with its original cast of characters. I expect it'll tie back in again at some point because it's easy eyeballs and sales but Gillen and Spurrier have some good things to work with here even if I'm not thrilled at the moment to be hitting a certain expected plot point just yet. That said, Laiso and Rosenberg nail the visuals for this with the action and all the dialogue scenes to make it a lot of fun and definitely worth a second and third reading to see all the neat details in the backgrounds. On the move in the floating fortress of Crimson Dawn, Aphra and her squad have many perils yet to avoid. Perhaps there will even be time to steal a few artifacts along the way. That task will be much more difficult to accomplish while in the sights of the deadly Deathstick. Read Full Review
These detours into more personal character development are what make this series shine. This issue makes you laugh and makes you cry, nicely done.
Really solid issue with some interesting character moments. There are some more hints that Aphra could possibly be a lesbian which would make things a little bit interesting. Just a simple heist plot with some good dialogue.
