As far as the story goes, it's a fun tale about two of Spider-Man's most classic villains teaming up while exploring both of their strong yet warped personalities. How do two brilliant minds come together to tackle competing, yet similar goals. Writer Kevin Shinick takes that one step further by throwing the madness of Norman Osborn into the mix, complicating the situation, and their relationship. There's an interesting bit of history about Doctor Octopus that I didn't know previously, as well as a great cliffhanger that sets the stage for an even more exciting second part. The whole creative team brings you back to Spider-Man stories from the 80′s and I couldn't be happier about it. I know this issue may not be for everyone, but for me, I couldn't ask for anything more. Read Full Review
Superior Spider-Man Team-Up #11is a fun flashback that provides the first team-up between Doctor Octopus and the Green Goblin. It is hard not to enjoy the fun writing and the classic Frenz/Buscema art. Read Full Review
I loved the style and story we were given here and while I'm usually not a fan of flashbacks Kevin and Ron have perfectly captured the feel of the era. It doesn't directly expand the ‘Goblin Nation' story arc that is going on right now but it is related to it and gives us a great view of two of Parker's greatest villains interacting with one another. This isn't a game changer but it is a fun story to read and if the second part is just as entertaining you are going to want to read both of them! Read Full Review
If you're interested in seeing a villain team-up with a 90′s feel I highly suggest buying this issue if nothing else. But I would avoid it as it had nothing to do with the plot of Goblin Nation. But if you're interested go and pick up this issue. Read Full Review
SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN #11 is an enjoyable trip into the past and has potential for a more serious and emotional second chapter. That said, I can't help but feel as though it doesn't do enough to make me really want to shell out $3.99 to see what happens next, especially when this comes off as a story that seemingly won't really change how we view either of these characters. It's by no means a bad issue, but I'd only recommend it to particularly big fans of these two Spider-Man villains. Read Full Review
I truly love the artwork of Ron Frenz, it has a cool classic 80's style to it...."oh ya, were gonna do it...but we're gonna do it...80's styyyyllle."
While reading I realized I truly love how crazy some of our favorite villains are. A nemesis can't be kind or loving, they have to be crazy. This issue really proved that to me, while Doc Ock will always be cold, calculating and meticulous. The Goblin is just nuckin futs, and they compliment each other so well. I could see a mini series of just these two. I didn't give it a perfect score, but the interest in this storyline is keeping me coming back and for that I give it an 8 out of 10.
