This was better. We get back into the action, and we get to see a legitimately cool golden age hero that Marvel doesn't ever use for some reason.
After positively soaking in context, we finally catch up to the "in media res" confrontation from #1. And it's … fine. It's a classic superhero scrap, with plenty of dynamic poses and punching and zapping and scenery-chewing and an expected-unexpected last-page twist.
It's just awfully basic. Not flawed, not bad, just shockingly straightforward and simple. The art's good in a classic way, and if the prose is corny, it's the right kind of corny.
I'm still hoping that the main story develops into something more complex than a delivery truck for obscure continuity wanking, but maybe my appreciation for the creators is making me too optimistic.
It was nice seeing the original Vision but everything else is either bad or boring.
