  For art, wow. Asking Alan Davis to take on this task in these last few issues of the series was an excellent move. He's an old time artist who has a knack for these big stories. His Thor looks every bit like you'd expect the God of Thunder to look. His Surtur is menacing and imposing. His landscapes are beautiful and large. While Davis will be stepping aside to do colors for the Journey Into Mystery parts of the story, it's still great to see him lending his incredible talents to both sides of the story.   Beyond the collaboration of Loki and Thor, there is a subplot featuring Jeff Fischer (from the previous arc) certain to pay dividends as the grander "Everything Burns" arc progresses, but for now it is simply another item included in the inventory report that Fraction and Gillen have run on Asgardia's stock. This issue would have made for a perfect offering in Marvel's Point One program, but as the prologue to a longer story, it is certainly just as effective. If you've had an inkling to check out a Thor comic, this one includes everything for a new reader just the right thing for you at just the right time. I'll certainly be onboard to see just what remains once "Everything Burns." Read Full Review

  The Mighty Thor #18 provides a pretty good entry point into the current story arc for diehards and newcomers alike. The prologue builds intrigue and centers the narrative around the (potential) players of the arc. Now it's up to the following issues to deliver a narrative compelling enough to make the readers stick around all the way through to the end. The cumulative talent and charisma between Fraction and Gillen makes me hope for the best in that regards. Read Full Review
