CELEBRATING 50 ISSUES OF SQUIRREL GIRL!
• It's the 50TH ISSUE of THE UNBEATABLE SQUIRREL GIRL! That's right: this issue - #42 - is our 50th!
• It says #42 on the cover, but that's only because we had eight issues, and then a second #1 in our first year, although this of course doesn't count the OGN (SQUIRREL GIRL BEATS UP THE MARVEL UNIVERSE), which is another five issues of story, which would put us at... issue #55? This is getting complicated. Anyway!
• By a certain way of counting, it's our 50TH ISSUE of THE UNBEATABLE SQUIRREL GIRL!
• And to celeb more
Unbeatable Squirrel Girl #42 is a profoundly satisfying one-shot that shows Kang the Conquerer learning what other Marvel villains already know: You don't mess with Doreen Green. A whip-smart script, an outstanding artistic shuffle, and gobs of fearless humour make this a perfect celebration of Squirrel Girl's 50th solo issue. Read Full Review

Just so great that I’m even willing to overlook time travel shenanigans! SG just knows how to speak to me. In Squirrelese.
Kang the Conqueror tries to clear a dystopian future-version of Doreen out of his path, which ends just as badly as you'd expect for him. This one-shot alternate-self teamup is an ideal way to celebrate a milestone. It's funny, it's memorable, it looks cute, it's plenty heartwarming, and it gives Doreen's ongoing story a little permanent twist. Plus, it gives some top-tier catnip to Squancy shippers.
This was good.
