WAR OF THE REALMS TIE-IN!
• You know how Squirrel Girl has stayed out of most Marvel events? Turns out, that was only because THOSE events didn't involve her good pal LOKI LAUFEYSON!
• When Earth is attacked as part of the WAR OF THE REALMS, Squirrel Girl is called back from her Negative Zone vacation, and Loki recruits her as part of a secret mission!
• Is Loki running a scheme? Probably. Is he playing a trick? Almost certainly. But he NEVER lies about the safety of his good friend (and Cat Thor creator) Nancy Whitehead, and that puts him and Doreen on the same side.
• It's Squirrel Girl's first BIG EVENT more
Hilarious and full of action and excitement, Squirrel Girl dives head-long into War of the Realms. Surely this is going to be the best of all the tie-ins! Read Full Review
Unbeatable Squirrel Girl #43 delivers a wordy introduction to the War of the Realms, says a heartfelt goodbye to Loki, and then boots Doreen into Asgardian/Canadian trouble right up to her squirrel ears. It's funny and it's fascinating, and it's an already-great start to what looks like a great tie-in. Read Full Review
With North and Charm, USG has the chance to take her to new heights of importance in the overarching comic story. Ryan North gives readers a good tie-in issue that is best for regular readers of Squirrel Girl and hopefully wins some new ones. The art is great and the story is a fun romp that I hope doesnt turn off those expecting something a little more serious. Serious?!? Really?!? Read Full Review
"War of the Realms" has invaded Unbeatable Squirrel Girl, but what we love about the series thankfully is not overshadowed. The issue does take a bit to get going, but patience is rewarded with a heartfelt exchange between Doreen and Loki. Read Full Review
All I could hope for going into the first tie-in with a title I have never read before. Read Full Review
I love Squirrel Girl okay.
Loki uses his last moment in New York to send Squirrel Girl on a Canadian Frost Giant hunt. It's a dense book with a lot of irons in the fire, and that's one of the secrets of its success. Another is that this issue makes full use of Squirrel Girl's Asgardian connections. It's a very good SG comic, a very good WotR comic, and a few other things besides. Tons of great humor, wide-ranging art of excellent cuteness, and a touching farewell to Loki all help.
A very good issue of Squirrel Girl that doesn't get brought down by the obligatory tie-in. Probably because Squirrel Girl has history with all the important characters.
