Knowing the history Millar's had recently with the Ultimates/Ultimate Avengers, I'm still going to stay on the cautious side. So far there does not seem to be a connection to the Death of Spider-Man even though those words are emblazoned on the cover. This is apt to change though, judging by the cover of the next issue. I really don't care whether this story is integral to that one or not; for now Ultimate Avengers vs. New Ultimates is shaping up to be Millars best Ultimate Avengers comic. The plot thickens as battles are held in the streets. Two influential people with powerful teams under their command are ready to go to war. Things will only get more exciting from here. Taken alone, it makes for a solid issue of Fury gathering some people to stop the sale, the mission taking an unexpected turn, and them still accomplishing the mission. In the larger context, it's the other side of the first issue and further sets the Avengers and Ultimates on a collision course, a conflict that's been coming since Fury announced his intentions to regain his former post as director of SHIELD at the end of "Ultimate Comics Avengers" #6. This is shaping up to be an entertaining capstone to Millar's tenure on this corner of the Ultimate universe. Read Full Review
