• One of the best reviewed comics in the world continues! • Miles must choose between battling his uncle turned crime lord or joining him to keep his family safe! • What path will Miles take?!
This was one fantastic issue. It was non-stop fun from front to back. I loved David Marquez's art, with Justin Ponsor's colors here, they're a great team, and this is exactly the art this book deserves. I am really enjoying Miles Morales, especially the fact Spider-Man is a teenager again. I love his ties to Prowler and watching their dynamic play out on the page. This book has fantastic writing, and it's new reader accessible. Lastly, this issue has a great action sequence towards the end that has a mild reveal about where this character could be heading. While I loved the twist, I couldn't help but think: why did it take 12 issues to get here? That slow pace is the one blemish on an otherwise rock-solid comic. Read Full Review
This is a solid comic book in every way and I hope the upcoming Marvel NOW re-launch will leave well enough alone with this series. Read Full Review
The action-packed issue shows that Miles is every bit as conscientious as Parker, and as the crowd of onlookers comment that they are glad he isn't dead, so are we. Read Full Review
With such excellent character moments throughout this issue, it is a shame Bendis again does not come through with action that matches their high quality. Like Miles's encounter with Scorpion, this battle suffers from repetition and lack of creativity. Aaron has proven to be a Jack of All Trades with his plethora of stolen super villain gear, so when he uses such straightforward tactics to combat Miles it makes him lose all the cred he built up. That said, the emotional beats in the issue were so strong that it doesn't hurt the issue too much. If anything, it puts the stakes of the fight above the fisticuffs, and isn't that what we're always asking for in comics these days? Read Full Review
I can't put my finger on it, but this final battle between Spider-Man and Prowler didn't feel as powerful as it should have. The stories leading up to this confrontation have been great. I'd even go so far as to say Miles' second story arc is better than his first. But this fight just doesn't have enough oomph behind it. Read Full Review
I have been a huge fan of the series up till this point and hope that with Miles being a part of the Divided We Fall event I can only hope that we finally see further development at least when it comes to his fighting style when he meets up with the icon that is Captain America. For what it is this was a good issue however the issues with the series slow it down. Read Full Review
