Woven through a wide array of titles across the past several years of X-Men comics is a singular Nightcrawler narrative that would have made for a seminal series and will doubtlessly still influence the character for many years to come, and Uncanny Spider-Man #5 may be its well-earned farewell. Comic Book Revolution - Kevin Lainez Dec 20, 2023

Uncanny Spider-Man #5 is a well earned finale for Nightcrawler's solo adventures during Fall of X. Throughout this journey Nightcrawler's character has further been strengthened as a solo hero. His chemistry with Silver Sable and Mystique further helped to put him over. The end results prove to be an important victory the X-Men needed during the dark times they have faced during the Fall of X direction. This series was certainly one of the gems of the Fall of X direction that X-Men fans should all check out. Read Full Review

    Great landing. Great miniseries.

Spurrier and Garbett stuck the landing.
This comic is good. The story and art are above average. This issue provides a satisfying conclusion (at least for now) to Spurrier's "run" on Nightcrawler. Baddies vanquished. The Vulture's victims freed. We get a hopeful finale. Most important - we find out what that invisible Bamf in Kurt's head is- and it's pretty cool. Hat's off to the creative team for bringing it home.

I hope Spurrier gets to do more with Nightcrawler. I like his take on the character. I think it's a shame his "run" has been so disjointed. He's been telling a continuous story, but to get it all you need Way of X 1-5, X-men: The Onlsaught Revelation, Legion of X 1-10, Nightcrawlers 1-3, X-men: Before the Fall - more

Si Spurrier has had a particular fondness for Nightcrawler throughout latter half of the Krakoan age and navigates the finale to his years-long narrative with finesse, balancing action-packed sequences with introspective moments for Kurt. I haven’t always been the biggest fan of Spurrier’s work with the character but I can appreciate the dedication and long-term storybuilding he’s done with the character and how much of what Kurt deals with from an internal perspective was introduced much earlier on. The issue wraps up plot threads which have lingered throughout Uncanny Spider-Man, offers intriguing developments for future stories, and leaves readers with a newfound appreciation for Kurt Wagner's resilience and moral compass. I love thinking of this as the title of the Bleeding Cool article about it: "When your mom hits on your girlfriend." That was definitely the weirdest part about this. Aside from that, this was a solid conclusion to this miniseries. While it wasn't as good as I had hoped it would be after the great first issue, I still liked this as a whole and I thought the last few pages were written nicely, especially.
