This was dense. A whole lot happening, things going very quickly and an ending that we're told not shown. But what we are shown is fantastic and beautiful. Byrne's jumping on point coincides with Claremont's highest concepts in one issue. It's just so much to absorb and so much of it feels way outside of what you'd expect from a comic, especially in the late 70s. It's amazing but just a little too hard to follow.
Some dumb stuff with an alien guardian saved by the majesty of John Byrne joining the team & the last half dealing with Phoenix in the crystal.
