Overall, this issue is just a plain ol' action-horror romp that plays well with Marvel history and genre tropes to craft a fine, inoffensive story sure to tickle the fancy of genre fans. The team has a strong understanding as to how a story like this needs to be devised, keeping the narrative fixed, tight, and true to the voices of every character. Read Full Review
X-Men: Unforgiven #1 notably improves upon its predecessor featuring Spider-Man as it both reveals the conspiracy behind Redblood's attack while introducing a much more compelling secondary horror antagonist from deep within the bowels of X-Men lore. Read Full Review
To be fair I only picked this up because I get everything x-men so I didn't read the previous book. With that being said this wasn't bad. It was a little over the top for me but there were some aspects of the story I liked. If you want a really over the top bloody story that feels right out of the '90's this is for you
I'm rating this slightly higher than the last issue because something like a plot is developing and the X-Men are not quite as useless as Spidey was. But it's still terrible.
I should follow the example of the editors and not waste too much brain bandwidth on this. "Do I really want to waste my time explaining to Tim Seeley that he's deeply misunderstood how Krakoan gates work? Nah."
*exasperated sigh*
