The book is tremendously enjoyable with the characters being absolutely top-notch. Peter David is truly giving these characters a glorious send-off, spotlighting both, so far, with not only apt, but improved and even different, looks at their characters. This issue, though, does something special as its one of the few Id recommend even with little interest in the storyline. Now this is more like it! The last issue of X-Factor was a weird, context-less adventure in Marrakesh that didn't seem to really have anything to do with X-Factor as a comic or as a superhero team. This issue, starring Wolfsbane, is a proper farewell. It tells a great Wolfsbane story, deals with her personal fallout in the wake of the Hell on Earth War, and sets her up with a new, post-series life. This is exactly what I want to see from the final issues of X-Factor. Read Full Review
I'm sure at the very least we'll see Polaris return as her on-the-rocks main squeeze is in charge of the Uncanny Avengers at the moment. Chances are she'll pop up there eventually. I also hope this whole deal with Guido sticks and whoever writes Mephisto into a story line next doesn't forget whose running things down below at the moment. Read Full Review
I'm really hoping David plans to reunite the full X-Factor crew at least once more before the end. But if this is the last we see of Rahne, it's not a bad way for her to bow out of the series. Read Full Review
Rahne's inevitable fate at the end of the issue is touching, having now committed herself to John Madrox's ministry, but the path to getting there in this issue felt a little too speedy. This story could have really used another issue, or less of the action sequence at the beginning, to give X-Factor #258 the real Wolfsbane closure the character deserved. Otherwise, the character is laid to rest in a logical manner, true to what David has crafted for her over the course of the series. Read Full Review
At this point, it remains to be seen whether this is just a series of epilogues of if there'll be a last-minute twist drawing everyone back together, but either way, at least no-one's getting neglected. That said, Wolfsbane has never felt like a natural fit for the superhero lifestyle so there isn't much drama over her leaving it. It's an issue that's fine, but has no huge surprises to deliver. Of course, next issue promises to finally address the relationship between Shatterstar and Longshot, so if it's surprises you want, maybe that one's worth waiting for. Read Full Review
