As the first real Rick and Morty issue I read cover-to-cover, and not simply glanced at, I felt it was fun. It captures the spirit of the series down to a tee. When the words and the art are spot-on, you have a fantastic story that feels like you're reading Rick and Morty. I won't lie, I read their dialogue in my head in their voices. Read Full Review
This issue really did a good job of capturing the essence of the characters. Their actions/reactions and motivations are what you would expect from either of them. Both stories are fun in their own ways. The first because it just goes there with no regard to subtlety and sticks the landing with an awesome and unexpected ending. The second story is fun because it encompasses all the subversive humor that Rick and Morty are known for. Read Full Review
The first story, written by Kyle Starks, is a riff on a Hunger Games scenario. The second, written by Josh Trujillo, starts as a parody of courtroom dramas and becomes something else by the end.
