Conan The Barbarian #28
| Writer | Jim Zub |
| Artist | Fernando Dagnino |
| Cover Price | $4.99 |
The Conquering Crown: The King of Aquilonia has gone mad, or so the rumors say. A tyrant sits upon the throne and all will suffer until he is deposed or dead.
Conan the Mercenary cares nothing for these royal rumors and petty politics, but the Cimmerian's skill in battle is about to put him in the path of a mad monarch, and his life will be forever changed.
"The storytelling remains sharp and engaging, and Fernando Dagnino's dynamic artwork once again hits the mark." - Cool Thunder

Jan 28, 2026CONAN THE BARBARIAN #28 s a mandatory purchase for anyone who values high-stakes storytelling and top-tier visual execution. It strips away the safety net and puts the protagonist in a meat grinder that feels genuinely lethal. You should absolutely make room in your monthly budget for this series because it represents the gold standard of modern adventure comics. Do not let this one pass you by while the fires of Aquilonia are still burning bright. Read Full Review

I'm not jiving with this story arc. It's a lot of text boxes for no reason. When did the king become a magic user? Way too much exposition about these barons, or nobles, or whatever they are. Only for them to be completely inconsequential since Conan took the crown anyway. Usually, he has arcs that end in 3 issues. I think the one I don't like is going to take longer.
