A BRAND NEW CONAN THE BARBARIAN ARC BEGINS!
WARRIOR. THIEF. PIRATE...
After adventures on the high seas, CONAN returns to shore to find himself haunted by his memories of BELIT, captain of the Tigress and Queen of the Black Coast. Can a high-stakes heist draw him out of his tortured past, or will it plunge him deeper into the chaos that has always been waiting for him?
I also loved the dramatic reveal at the close of the issue where we see just what Tarims Touch actually is. Its a brilliantly drawn moment. Read Full Review
CONAN THE BARBARIAN #5 catches up with an older and jaded Conan for a new adventure that ties the present to the past. Zubs picture of a more mature Conan gives the series the weight of continuity and importance, while the addition of Braithwaite on pencils/inks is a welcome change in style. Read Full Review
A vibrant comic with strong illustrations, the story is more deep than you would expect and certainly will become alot deeper as we continue. Conan is back strong with this new arc and I am ready for it. Read Full Review
The start to this issue feels somewhat rushed and abrupt after the last arc concluded, but Zub really finds a great rhythm here once he gets going. Read Full Review
Jim Zub is off to a great start with this new story line. New artist Doug Braithwaite provides great artwork.
Though I was disappointed by the change in artwork style, I'm still enjoying this title. With a brand new arc, we are delving into Conan lore where is hired as a theif to steal a relic. However, this relic is cursed. I'm hoping to get a few more twists in turns in this plot unlike the last arc that was pretty straightforward.

New Story Arc begins in this issue. Jim Zub is clearly having a blast writing Conan again and his writing is top notch. Artist Doug Braithwaite does a great job with some very detailed panels. Yes, it's a change in style from the wonderful Roberto De La Torre, but it still looks great to me. There is a lot going on in this issue and it builds to a big cliffghanger.
I love the variant covers by both De La Torre and Rebeca Puebla--those beautifully striking eyes!
It's a solid recommend!
