Ultimately, this issue has everything you want in a good comic; it makes you genuinely think while providing enough humour and action that you may not even notice yourself doing so. I hoped I'd enjoyFaith And The Future Force #1, but I didn't think I'd enjoy it as much as I did. Read Full Review
Valiant has been releasing a new series every last Wednesday of the month and Faith And The Future Force 1 is the new series that you need to pick up. It was an absolute blast to read and every page looked great. If you aren't familiar with some of the supporting cast, it's okay because there's not too much crammed in front of you. A lot of the fun with this series is going to be how much of Valiant's universe is pulled in and how they interact with the situation. I cannot wait. I hope you cannot either. Read Full Review
While the mainstream focus still seems to fall squarely on the big two of DC and Marvel, its becoming more and more apparent than Valiant are rapidly becoming the go to publisher for truly great superhero stories. And amidst an already stacked roster of characters, Faith Herbert continues to push her way right to the front of the line, making every story involving her an all but essential purchase. I give this issue 4.5 out of 5 stars. I couldn't ask for a better start to this series. This was a joy to read and I can't wait to for the next issue. Faith is one of the best characters in all of comics and I can't think of a better time to get on board. Go out and buy this issue (and then pick up the previous series while you're at it), you won't be disappointed. Read Full Review
Faith and the Future Force #1 uses the tropes of time travel stories to charming effect, promising a series that will be fun & thrilling in equal measure. And while the tone of the issue is mostly light, once things get serious the reader understands how momentous this event is going to be, as all of reality could hang in the balance, with Faith's personal fate playing a large role in the outcome. As long as it keeps its heart in the right place, and its brain cooking up interesting paradoxes, the rest of the series should offer a lot for fans of Faith or time travels stories in general. “Faith and the Future Force” #1 opens up the Valiant world to Faith putting her in an all-new adventure that spans beyond her Los Angeles surroundings. It's the perfect summer event that broadens Faith's capabilities, facing new dangers and puts her in charge of her own team. The sense of danger, heroism, and fun is inescapable which makes this series a treat for fans, old and new. Read Full Review
Overall, I think this is a solid first issue (and plus-size by the way) in terms of introducing the story. There are a lot of mysterious elements, as one would hope for a time travel mystery, and the overall success of the series will depend on their ability to tie those threads together. I expect big things in the next three issues, in terms of sheer scale of characters, and also in terms of Doctor Who timey-wimey narrative craziness, hopefully on par with Fred Van Lente’s excellent work with Ivar, Timewalker. I hope I’m not building up my expectations too high on this one! Read Full Review
One more wishlist item is that this story is able to help move Faith past her “wanted” criminal status. Either way it's time to jump into the vortex and see where the next issue takes us. Read Full Review

This book shows a lot of promise; the characters of Neela and Ank are intriguing and hopefully the author will get into a little bit more detail about them. Faith is wonderful, a plus size heroine with a great sense of humor. There are lots of relatable moments in this book and the references will make any fan laugh at least a little. It's good to see Faith back with her team as they will bring more diversity and characterization to the book. Read Full Review

On the whole, Faith and the Future Force is pretty average, maybe slipping to below average in a few places due to some weird plot decisions and weak writing. As a first issue, it's pretty bad. Read Full Review
This was a fun introduction to Faith "Zephyr" Herbert. I have never read anything about her before, but I have been eating up everything Valiant has put out in preparation for "Harbinger Wars 2" Just like secret weapons, this is definitely a 4 part series that you need to pick up. Its really enjoyable and refreshing from the traditional heroes we all know about already.
