It turns out that nightmares are just dreams too.
Heading west, the Renegades have found themselves at the end of Route 66 in a little town called Los Angeles, California. But the war they left behind is still waging, somehow, unseen just below the surface of the sun and surf. What if it will never end? What if there is no escape? What if wherever they go, they carry the war inside them? It has long been said that the City of Angels is a place where anything can happen... where reality is pliable and dreams are made real in the blink of an eye. Now, like the decades of wannabe starlets and rockers before them, the Renegades are about more
The argument could be made that every series that Valiant produces is their best and if that was the case with every comic company then the industry would look very different than it does. Harbinger is about to change everything. The look into Torque's mind is a tiny glimpse of a much larger question as to what is reality and has it ever been what we think. Yes, it's that confusing but it also's that smart and interesting. This sets a new course for Peter and the Renegades, Toyo Harada, the Harbinger Foundation and who knows how many other Valiant characters. Harbinger has been the most interesting title in the Valiant universe and it's a must read to all fans who simply want great stories and characters. Read Full Review
If you love the team dynamic of the X-Men series, you will love Harbinger. This comic is wonderful, inventive and fun. It is one of the best new series being published today and is on the top of my stack. Joshua Dysart has squarely placed himself as a writer to keep your eye on and I can't wait for the next issue. Great issue that is leading towards something interesting from this group. Nothing is as it really seems and what you want to see is how the can overcome something they never saw coming. Well one person has, but we'll see if things go their way because that is something you don't want to trick yourself into thinking at any point. Read Full Review
Barry Kitson is still on art for this issue, but he's joined by Mark Pennington and Brian Level this time around. Harbinger #16 looks really good, but it doesn't run as smooth as a Kitson solo issue. There's not bad a page in here, but there are some noticeable shifts when one artist takes center stage and another steps back. Still, there's some rad looking pages in here and anytime we get to see a heavy metal train it's a very good thing. Hell, I want more heavy metal trains and giant bats, there isn't nearly enough of them in this issue! Read Full Review
Harbinger is a series that continues to take chances and throw curve balls. This truly is the premier book in the Valiant arsenal, and should be recommended to anybody who is a fan of great characters and great story telling. Read Full Review
