MUST READ VALIANT! All-new arc, all-new jumping-on point! Joshua Dysart and Clayton Henry launch "RESISTANCE"- and end the Renegades war against Toyo Harada once and for all.
Peter Stanchek and his team of teenage superhuman outlaws have decided that the best defense is a strong offense. Pursued from coast to coast by their would-be overlord in the Harbinger Foundation, the Renegades are about to launch a strategic strike on Harada's secret empire - and they'll start by revealing to the world just what kind of power they've been hiding all along. The ace up their sleeve? A seemingly normal teenage hacker named Ax...who knows exactly what more
This issue is really good and while I don't particularly trust @X, I'm very curious to see what happens with his story and the Renegades. Also I fucking love that they're still calling them the Renegades! Stuff like that is just awesome, but also works in the context of the story. Again, if you're not reading Harbinger this is the issue to start with. I still think it's the best thing Valiant is publishing and it continues to prove me right month after month. Read Full Review
Harbinger #20 blows everything wide open. Just about all the shadows have light shone upon them and everything shifts because of this. Dysart and Henry are laying pages of the possible in this book, letting everything jump to this new tune. This is the beginning of something; all the pieces of the question have fit together. This issue shows us just how fun of a book Harbinger can be because it mirrors a real world. Now we will see what happens in a world where the idea of superpowers is revealed and Harada's back is against the wall to not only make good of the situation, but keep his secrets hidden for the sake of his foundation and those involved. If there was any reason to pick up this book, it would be to see how this group of misfits fair when the odds are finally in their favor. Read Full Review
This is a great looking issue, too, thanks to Clayton Henry. He doesn't get to draw too much in this issue, just lot of Harada talking to people and planning, but it all runs smooth and is an easy read. As a storyteller, Henry is fantastic. He keeps the action close, rarly pulling out for long distance views. SWAT officers are right in your face, Harada's eyes are staring right at you. It's all front and center. It'd be nice to see him handle a bit more action, but given the events of this issue, that is coming and coming soon. Peter is gunning for Harada, and we know when those two throw down, things get out of control. Read Full Review
No less, this arc is looking like a real knockout, and I'm really hoping Henry stays on this book for a while. With him on the book, it could quickly become the best book in Valiant's ranks once again. Read Full Review
This comic has been consistently good and remains among the best of Valiant's output. Like the cover says, this is indeed the start of a new story and therefore a great place for those who haven't been following this book to start doing so. Just as the cover proclaims, it's a must-read. Read Full Review
The renegades barely appear in this issue and it is still an enthralling read. Dysart and Henry are a powerful team that have great chemistry and appear to be on the same page. The quality of this book keeps going up and so does its fan base. A sure fire hit of a series. Read Full Review
I love the new addition of @X to this book and his sparring with Harada and police is exciting and interesting enough to make you almost forget Peter and his team don't so up until the very end of the issue. Harbinger brings it each month with strong characters and a well crafted story. This is a great time to jump on board and see what you have been missing from another great Valiant title.
