Getting back to the question posed above about Neville and the mystery of though memories missing from him. The story at the end, the Lost Files has been a great addition to the end of each issue, especially the end in how all has been answered to bring this mission full circle. Ninjak #9 gives us a grand finale to the Shadow Wars storyline. Ninjak's matches culminated well in this finale which gave a lot of depth to the character, his history and his importance and connection to the Valiant Universe. While lore and development was built upon, the finale seemed just a bit too quick there in the final battle. Otherwise, this was a strong follow up to the opening storyline. Read Full Review

Ninjak #9 shows why Matt Kindt is one of the top talents in the comic world right now. It has great characterization and a tightly written script that connects everything together. Ninjak brings a lot to a close here and while I'm frustrated with it on some level I'm also pretty pleased by it. The series has covered a lot of ground in these nine issues and accomplished a lot to really make it clear why Colin is as good as he is and gave him some solid opponents to deal with that has some meaning. It could have been a lot more and I could easily envision a few years worth of stories working through all of this, though some of that is looking ait through a manga-style lens. After dabbling lightly with other Valiant books in the past, Ninjak is the first one that really became a must-read book for me to see if it's able to really step it up. It's definitely done so overall and has me looking forward to seeing what's next. Read Full Review

Ninjak #9is a decent issue due mainly to Ninjak's connection to the Undead Monk and his quest for revenge for the death of his former handler. The main fight against Fakir is entertaining but the fact that the nuclear bombis out in the open from the beginning takes away any suspense and reduces the intensity. And the explanation of the Undead Monk is wrapped up quickly. However, this issue completes a fascinating look at Ninjak's backstory, and as a result the future looks insanely interesting. Overall, this is a solid ending to the story arc. The handful of reveals are very interesting and I can't wait to see where the story goes from here and what else we'll learn about Ninjak and his jacked up family. NINJAK #9 is a solid conclusion to "The Shadow Wars." It introduces and clarifies elements about Ninjak's past, elaborates on the Shadow Seven, and uses flashbacks creatively to delve into an otherwise quite enigmatic character. Unfortunately, the heavy use of flashbacks, both in the main story and backup, leave some action to be desired in Ninjak's fight against Fakir. Read Full Review
