'Shadowman' is Valiant's corner of magic that is every bit as exciting and exhilarating as their other books. It's just as cinematic and awe-inspiring as any movie. Diggle, Segovia, and Arreola conjure up magic of their own with a fast-paced story and heart-racing action. At its heart, is the partnership of Jack and Alyssa that will draw the reader in. The battle for New Orleans continues don't miss it. Read Full Review
While the story does suffer from its high-paced plot and a few confusing story beats, the overall experience of SHADOWMAN #2 is incredibly satisfying. With two of the strongest and most interesting characters in comics, as well as the amazing artistry of Stephen Segovia, keep an eye out for this growing series. Read Full Review
At the end of the day,Shadowman #2is a really solid comic, but unfortunately I really don't have much to say about it other than you should read it if you've even half an interest in the character or publisher. You don't need to know everything about Shadowman to enjoy this comic, though I'm sure it helps, because Diggle, Segovia and colourist Ulises Arreola have delivered a comic that is a wonderful addition to any pull list. If the first issue didn't fully grab you, I would hope that Shadowman #2 did. By the end of this issue we are left with a very good idea as to what this story has to offer us moving forward. The enemies have been established, as well as the obstacles they will have to face if they want to stop them. Read Full Review

Based on how this story is going so far, I'd love to see an ongoing Shadowman series out of Valiant. Both the characters and the setting are so different from most of the Valiant universe, that I'd be willing to take the time to explore this pocket of it. Read Full Review
Shadowman may be overmatched in his battle against evil spirits and their minions, at least for now. The story is just starting to warm up, and promises some chills and suspense. Read Full Review
Shadowman #2 slows down the pacing and makes some missteps in the wake of its impressive return. However, there is still a lot of fun to be had in this war of Loas and otherworldly magic, and the artwork of Segovia and Arreola keep it all visually stunning. This one still earns a recommendation. Check it out. Read Full Review
