What lurks beneath the surface of PLANET DEATH?

Aric of Dacia has taken his one-man war to the Vine’s homeworld, Loam, and is using their own X-O Manowar armor to wage it. Finding an ally in the unlikeliest of places, Aric will discover that his mission to reduce Loam to ash will come with a high price. Past, present, and future are about to collide, and if Aric isn’t careful, he will be the common thread that undoes them all.

Multiversity Comics - David Harper Apr 18, 2013

As I said, I think this is one of the best marriages of writing and art we've seen from this book so far. I'm all about this version of Bloodshot, and the combination of wall-to-wall action and interesting character beats is up there in the world of comics. Badassery in comic form, my friend. I'll keep this review short, but let me say that this issue is definitely a keeper. In fact, I reccomened that you get into this series. I believe that Venditti, Nord, and Bauman have a lot to offer and will take the story even further. X-O is the way to go—RAN Read Full Review

Comic Vine - Mat 'Inferiorego' Elfring Apr 17, 2013

My biggest complaints, in earlier issues were the art of Cary Nord and the colors of Mouse Baumann. I've come to terms with them here. I like it, but I feel like it doesn't compliment the storytelling as well as it should. It's very solid work, and while at times, I've been a little harsh on it, I really do like what they're doing.Part two of Planet Death does no disappoint. Venditti is doing a smashing job with this overall series and with this story arc. While this may not be a great time to jump onto the book, readers will be very happy with the twists and turns as Aric tries to avenge his people on Loam. The only real complaint I have with this issue is that the page and panel layouts were pretty average. Nothing really stood out to me.Overall, this is still an amazing book, and consistently one of my favorite monthly reads. I highly recommend this issue. Read Full Review

Stop spending money on issues of My Little Pony: Friendship is Tragic just so you can fit in with all the hipster idiots who think they are so meta for liking a 1980’s toy retread. Reclaim your humanity by buying this book monthly because it will give you an opinion, a shot of confidence, and a lesson on how to fight the battle that just can’t be won. Read Full Review

    IGN - Benjamin Bailey Apr 17, 2013

Sadly, Cary Nord's artwork slips even further in this issue. It's brushier and more sparse, giving the issue an almost empty feeling. There's a rushed quality to many of the pages, as if the finishing detail work was simply left out. Some of the smaller scenes, involving Aric and a slave woman look fantastic and detailed, which only makes the book feel more disjointed. Hopefully, since it looks like death is right around the corner, Nord can rally and bring that level of detail to every page. Read Full Review

X-O Manowar has the potential to be one of the better science fiction stories out on the market today. Robert Venditti continues to pump good dialogue with realistic character moments, and an action packed story. Cary Nord has the ability to be a break out talent. If we mix all these things together we get one of the best kept secrets in comics today. Read Full Review

This issue showcase a very interesting world along with a story that is ripe with potential for interesting development, yet it is a bit brought down by a rather boring main character and some trouble with the art. Read Full Review
