X-O Manowar #31 is an excellent follow-up issue as Zahn's grand scheme to destroy Aric is put into motion in an intense and surprising manner. Zahn's ruthlessness was on display last issue but this issue takes it up another level as his cunning mind is only matched by his arrogance and recklessness. Since the U.N. resolution was passed there have been issues brewing throughout the various Valiant titles, and Zahn's actions could play a huge role in bringing all of that to a head. Even without greater repercussions it's still an interesting time for Aric as he has his family established and happy, and this issue is the start of him addressing bigger problems in his new role, starting with Zahn. It's said that every comic book is someone's first. This issue is a great example of that mantra in mind. Multiple locales, mostly self-contained weaving plots within the issue, and even some humor. All this bang for your buck is what comics are all about. Read Full Review
This has been another strong issue in one of Valiant's best titles this year. Despite being in the shadow of the epic "Armor Hunters" crossover, the latest arc still excites and intrigues. Without the help of the rest of the Valiant heroes, it will be interesting to see how well Aric fares against an enemy that seems to have the upper hand right now. Venditti is writing a fantastic arc, with a ruthless new antagonist possessing powerful technology and cruel intentions. "X-O Manowar" is a must read for fans of action filled comics, and now is one of the best times to start. Read Full Review
X-O Manowar #31 ends setting up to what will be Aric vs the Armorines. Strong individually and deadly as a unit it should be a show to see what they can do against the man of war himself. Read Full Review
This team has yet to disappoint and continue to roll out issues at the level that weve all gotten used to on X-O Manowar. It's hard to pick out flaws or complaints when the team can continually put out books at this level, so all props to them, and of course Valiant, for bringing them together. Venditti and Bernard, along with Quintana, are a team that needs to stick with X-O for the foreseeable future. They're building an epic in their corner of the Valiant Universe and I, for one, feel sorry for anybody that has to follow them when, inevitably, their run is done. How do you follow something as large and epic as Armor Hunters? It almost seems like you have to give the readers something that's a bit of a throw-away because it's a real hard follow-up. What Armorines does extremely well in this second part is show the reader that there's threats here on Earth that can take down Aric. It's not just space to be worried about. X-O MANOWAR continues to be Valiant's strongest title offering some of the most interesting characters and best storytelling. This issue and storyline is highly recommended. Read Full Review
Valiant as a whole has put together a comic world that's not matched by any other company. It's clear, clean, makes sense, and organically evolves. Each piece works on its own, and there's the greater whole. X-O Manowar as a series shows that off. While this seems to be a storyline focused on X-O, I'm prepared for its greater ramifications upon the Valiant Universe. This is a solid issue to read, and for long time fans, they'll enjoy where things are going. For new readers, it's not the best place to start, hence the "read" below. As a whole, the series should be checked out, especially for folks looking for superhero comic alternatives beyond the big two. Read Full Review
Robert Venditti (Green Lantern, The Flash) continues his lauded run scripting the adventures of the time-lost hero Aric as he comes to terms with the modern world and he, with it. The artwork of Brazilian wunderkind Diego Bernard and Witchbladealumni and inker Alisson Rodriguez jumps off the page; this is one of the glossier and boldest titles on the stands this week. For new readers, this is the perfect jump-on point for anyone wanting pure comic storytelling from a company with a burgeoning interlinked continuity that isnt likely to be rebooted again anytime soon.Is anyone else getting sick of that? If you haven't been checking out X-O Manowar, this issue is as good an opportunity as any. Even if you don't know Aric and his various storylines, it's easy to follow this exciting issue - and that's enough of a hook to get you invested in him as a character. Really great issue. Loved seeing it play out with the explosions from the mini soldiers.
Awe Yeah, Aric is back in top form! Or at least the comic is, Aric is not in good shape by the end of this. Nice quaint opening and a surprising climax, this was great.
Italia - certo che questo zahn è veramente determinato a fare soldi, senza scrupoli, pronto a tutto. Ogni volta che Aric è in un laboratorio gli accadono sempre cose brutte.
