A nice and refreshing take on Batman. As of the writing of this review (Jan 2024), we still haven't had a good main-line Batman writer for years (think pre-King). All we have are the off-shoot and Black Label/non-cannon books.
Great Art that can sometimes be a bit cluttered, and Alfred was only in for a short bit, but to make him so terrible was sad and felt bad.
Besides those two complaints the book is great and Wong was an excellent character. An excellent addition to the history of the GCPD. If they took elements of her and put her in the mainline books that would be great honestly.
This feels like a more grounded, harsh Batman. He still tries but he is far from invinsible and has less than stellar public perception. Bruce was also interpreted in an interesting way. Worth a read for sure. I enjoyed it in a HC TPB version. Looks nice on the Bookshelf and something I can hand off to people if they want a Batman short story to read.
The beginning is a bit slow and sometimes kinda confusing, however after some time it really picks up
