Yup, this is definitely written by Donny Cates. This really reminds me the beginning of his Venom run in terms of how big this actually feels. Without any doubt, this book is off to a very, very good start.

Prelude:
For the first time in eight years, Thor has a new writer. Cates has shown that he loves Thor in his other books, but can he follow so closely to Aaron's Saga?

The Good:
I love this King Thor. Feels exactly what Thor would act like when he becomes King.

Still liking how Cates ties his stories together, this one being from Silver Surfer: Black.

Absolutely fabulous first issue from Cates and Klein. Klein excels at drawing Thor and his world. Cates delivers an opening issue that has reeled me in for the rest of the run. My only complaint can be is that Galactus shows up way too often

Well, what a disappointing run.

I feel like I've wasted a ton of time and money reading this garbage. IMO the alternate runs (Batman who laughs, White Knight, Last Knight, etc.) were way better.

Unless the title returns to his Snyder's Court of Owls glory, I will stop buying Batman's main title.

Great issue. The story is still a little weird& I wouldn’t be surprised, if Omega was another former Robin going total psycho, but the scenes with Joker, especially where he made jokes about Robin were fun to read. Scarecrow was also cool in this issue, hope he also appears in the final one. Wish whatever was done to him& Bane would be explored more.
I think the story was less entertaining more

DC continues to get a pass on these books that are supposed to rewrite the status quo but never do. Doomsday Clock never is out in a timely manner and we have long passed the promise of the importance of Dr. Manhattan being a major part of the DC Universe. Dark K more
