Pacing's a bit too fast for my liking, but it's a really great first issue that has an intriguing premise and a likable enough protagonist. Art is great and I'm very curious as to where they go from here.

The best part is that I didn't even know the name of the dude she was kissing at the end. Actually, I don't know the names of any of the characters that aren't Kate or Rivera. That's how unimportant and underdeveloped this series' characters are. Kate is a fun character to read, but her supporting characters feel like they're there just for the sake of having supporting characters. The plotline with her father and Madame Masque felt rushed and ultimately unsatisfying as a result. The art is still top notch, though. more

A fascinating character study on the road to recovering from trauma, Jen's story continues to burn slowly into what will (hopefully) be an intense and worthwhile conclusion to this first arc. The lack of Hulking in a Hulk book is disappointing, but the deep character work and unique tone is the meat to this comic.

It's a lot of teasing by the writer and it finally seems like we'll be getting Hulk next issue, so that's great. These past issues have been incredibly slow as a whole, but I'm still interested because individually they're fine. I feel sorry for the poor soul who purchases the tpb, though.
