A Spider-Man vs. Doc Ock confrontation -- just like old times. The only difference is that one works for Hydra, which happens to have conquered the U.S. government. Read Full Review

It seems like the Parker Industries era is coming to an end soon, and I'm going to miss it. But it's going out on top. Read Full Review

    All-Comic - Jeremy Matcho Jul 16, 2017

Amazing Spider-Man has been consistently good for a long time now. Dan Slott has worked his magic to make this title a must-read. To top it off, it's hard to ask for a better job in the art department than what's given this issue. Read Full Review

Weird Science - Branden Murray Jul 17, 2017

Spider-Man/Peter and his corporation are in for some trouble down the road and the ground workfor the ivory tower to come crumbling down is laid here in this issue. Despite the tie-in status between art and afew of the important story beats present this issue is worth a look. Read Full Review

Multiversity Comics - Alexander Jones Jul 17, 2017

Despite falling into the same potholes as previous installments, "Amazing Spider-Man" #30 is the best single issue of the comic in years thanks to Slott's deft writing and Immonen's slick and vivid art. Read Full Review

    Superior Spider-Talk - Dan Gvozden Jul 12, 2017

This issue of Amazing Spider-Man might be a bit of a mixed bag, tossed around by "Secret Wars" and shallow ongoing characterization, but the art team continues to stun and a late-game twist promises an exciting next issue. Read Full Review

Major Spoilers - Matthew Peterson Jul 15, 2017

In short, Slott and Immonen and the creative team have worked really hard to make the balance between Spider-Man story and crossover story work within their framework, but there isn't enough to the main story other than the shock value. Amazing Spider-Man #30 has some excellent art, some wonderful Peter Parker moments, heavy-duty Spidey/Ock rivalry and uses the tone of Secret Empire to good effect but still getting dragged down by it. AiPT! - Nick Nafpliotis Jul 12, 2017

Unfortunately, the script for Amazing Spider-Man #30 leaves much to be desired. Let's hope this is just a bump in the road for the title and not sign of things to come. Read Full Review

This was a good Spidey/Ock set up for a clash. A good S.E. crossover exposition of details neglected in the main series. The respected big cast get fair amount of soap opera facetime. Strong art effort.

I have to get this off my chest!! Marvel quit with these damn events every other week! I'm not going to buy into them, they are all garbage. Quit interfering with your normal books. The first few pages of this book are abysmal. Peter leaves mid encounter with Doc only to get to DC decide Cap is to strong and then come running back to Doc? 1000% unnecessary and a awful interruption to what is a good arc. Now that's off my chest I really thought this was a good issue. The build up of the showdown between Spidey and Doc was riveting and Slott really captured the tension & feeling of just how much is at stake! The art is phenomenal! Really looking forward to the next issue! Just please stop this damn event overdose marvel! **my Review score is 100% based on the actual Doc Oc arc not the SE pages. Overall with everything I'd give this a 3/10**

For a linewide crossover tie-in, this issue wasn't bad at all. Secret Empire was a big factor, but the focus never deviated from Spider-Man.

Solid issue. I didn't find too much wrong with it. The art continues to impress while the story is just never taken to that next level. I really am enjoying the superior octopus vs. Peter dynamic and how this could be the end of Parker Industries. We will see what happens next!

    Spock's Brain Jul 20, 2017

This issue deals with Peter trying to build a last defence for Parker Industries, which is pretty by the numbers. It sets the story elements in place for what looks like a more thrilling next issue. What elevates it here is the phenomenal art of Stuart Immonen, who somehow seems to be getting better by the issue.

This was a huge step back from the previous issue. First we have a few pages basically retelling some stuff from Secret Empire, and then after that the story becomes stale. While the showdown between Spidey and Ock helped a bit, it was decent at best. Hoping for this to pull back in the next one...
