Bloodshot U.S.A. #1 is a thrill-ride that will make you beg for more. This should be first on your reading list this week. Dont discount this event as filler or being done for shock value. As with all of Lemires work, there is more depth here than just an action-adventure story. Fans of Bloodshot and of the larger Valiant Universe will enjoy this engrossing tale. Read Full Review

Outside of his work on Image's Descender, this is the best work that Jeff Lemire is producing. Bloodshot USA #1 is an exciting and tightly-crafted first issue of an event-worthy story. The character work is outstanding, and the action " when called upon " is thrilling. This is one "superhero" story worth picking up. Read Full Review

Bloodshot U.S.A. #1 is an excellent start to the series with this issue not wasting one page in setting up the premise. From the start of the issue to its last shocking page it's an engrossing read. The initial plot to infect all of Manhattan with nanites to the way it evolved throughout the issue creates enough potential for this series to be memorable. I know it's just the first issue so I'm hoping this momentum carries forward into the next one. Can't wait. Read Full Review

Buy this book. Seriously, buy this book. Fans of Bloodshot will love this book, and those new to Bloodshot will be hooked. I daresay you will follow my lead and buy every Lemire-related Bloodshot trade on the market. Bloodshot U.S.A. #1 is worthy on its own merits, but the writing and art are truly superb, and they are only going to get better. I could not put this issue down, and am anxiously awaiting the next issue. Let me know what you think below! Read Full Review

Bloodshot U.S.A. #1 is a great example of all the things that have made the Valiant line so great over the last few years. Lemire and Braithwaite set up the event with such skill and lean action that I can't imagine anyone not wanting to pick up #2 to see what comes next. It proves that, once again, Valiant might be setting up the most exciting and refreshing new super-hero comic universe in comics right now. Read Full Review

Another real solid event fron Valiant. Easily accessible to new readers, and a terrific way to tie-up things that started way back when Valiant relaunched 5 years ago. Lemire can sometimes be hit or miss, but he has been putting out some amazing books for Valiant and Bloodshot USA is no exception. Read Full Review

Despite some inherent weaknesses Bloodshot USA #1 is a strong first issue due to Lemire's writing and Braithwaite's art. It promises even bigger and better things to come. Now that Lemire has done the heady work of catching all of us late comers to the Valiant Universe I expect him to cut loose and give us a very satisfying series. This is your entry point folks. Last call. All aboard. Next stop NIRVANA. Read Full Review

Bloodshot USA #1 isn't about balls-to-the-wall action, but rather getting the reader engrossed in a zombie-style story as onlyValiantcan do – and that it does exceedingly well. If the publisher's track record is anything to go by, you'll want to pick this series up. It's going to be bloody, brilliant, and well worth the read. Read Full Review

Pastrami Nation - Nolan Smith Oct 30, 2016

I will be honest, I havent been reading the Bloodshot series as of late, so I was a little thrown off on who the group of Bloodshots are, but the story within this book is pretty well contained. How can Bloodshot and whatever allies he may have left stop a city infested with Bloodshot soldiers? This is the story, especially since Bloodshot is used to solving problems by putting a bullet into his opposition. Lemire and Braithwaite have created a good start to what is sure to be a bloody good series, if the last page is any indication. Bloodshot U.S.A. is here, who survives this new nation remains to be seen. Read Full Review

Bloodshot U.S.A. #1 is a must read whether you have been following the story from Bloodshot Reborn to now, or just jumping in now because this is new reader friendly. There a lot of potential to take advantage here with numerous Bloodshots in action, unlikely enemies, and an organization to take down that may be over their heads. Florida Geek Scene - Brian Reed Dec 7, 2016

Overall, the book is worth it, even if the story is a little flat. All hell breaks lose, and the twist ending is a great set up for the rest of the series, so even if issue #1 might not stand proud and tall on its own, it is a necessary part of something bigger. If you're a fan of the Valiant titles, you shouldn't pass this one up. And if you're new to the series, there's no better way to see if you should stick around, as it's exactly what you can expect from the rest. Read Full Review

Big Comic Page - Andrew McGlinn Oct 26, 2016

So its a bittersweet pill the start of Bloodshot USA. Jeffs swansong into the world of Bloodshot begins and there is a sense of finality in the telling of this story. The impression that things are not going to be the same after the conclusion is evident, and in what direction Bloodshot (and the Valiant universe) will go is anyones guess. Every story arc, from Colorado to Bloodshot Island has been leading up to this and you can feel the strands of the storylines tying together here, but who knows what the final picture will reveal. One thing Im sure I can confirm, it couldnt be more fitting that the final stage of Rays regenisis – under the watchful eye of Jeff Lemire – is kicking off an event that is titled The Future of Valiant. I cant wait to find out what happens next. Read Full Review

Overall Bloodshoot U.S.A. #1 is a successful at doing the leg worked needed to make this story work. The stakes have been set, the characters are in place, and now it appears the chaotic fun will begin. Bloodshoot U.S.A may not end up having the depth of Valiants best work, but after this first issue it nearly guarantees one hell of a great time. Read Full Review

So, Overall, Bloodshot U.S.A. #1 isn't a bad book. It's one of those stories where you can turn your brain off for 20 minutes and flip through it and if you don't dig too deep, you'll enjoy it. Obviously I'm not reading other Valiant stuff, and haven't read all that much in the grand scheme of things, so your opinion may vary from mine. As a Valiant novice, I enjoyed it because it was something different to what I'm used to reading on a monthly basis. If you're a veteran Valiant reader, you may disregard everything I've just said when you read it for yourself. But I did enjoy it and I look forward to the next issue so I can find out what the fuck's going on and how it will all escalate and maybe top this issue" I guess I'll have to wait and see what happens next month!
