Flash (2016) #25 |
Jul 30, 2017 |
Theres not really a lot of action here for a 29 page book surprisingly but again its mostly used to flesh out Thawne and it makes him all the more real and unsettling for it. There are some fistacuffs thrown between Barry and Thawne. But it doesnt last long and this issue does end on a pretty satisfying cliffhanger that will have you smiling but in anticipation wanting more so I wont spoil that. This was one of those issues that while not a lot happens its integral you read it for the plot and so you can get a better understanding of your villain. I may be a little biased with my rating here considering my love for the character but with that being said there was never a moment I wasnt invested in Thawnes story and for that I gotta give this issue a 10/10 the storytelling is incredible here and honestly at some of its finest as well as the artwork which is equally as amazing. |

Flash (2016) #27 |
Sep 12, 2017 |
Joshua manages to explore the character in ways I've never seen before which transcend him far beyond being just a textbook sociopath and feel right and fit with the character never feeling like he's betraying him. |

Justice League: No Justice #1 |
May 9, 2018 |
This is easily my favorite comic of the year(besides Terrifics and only until Odyssey drops most likely) my point is I eagerly await issue 2 and this is easily a must buy for any life long fans of DC and I cannot wait to see what Snyder and the duration of the series has to offer. Man, what a comic. |

Star Wars: Thrawn #1 |
Mar 12, 2018 |
Thrawn beautifully recreates and translates into a different medium without losing any of the strengths of the book. It's doubtful this series will be as good as the novel just because in favor of 6 issues the series will have to compromise some of the smaller details inside the book but I'm glad to see comic readers will at least be getting a faithful rendition of this story. |

Thanos (2016) #1 |
May 10, 2017 |
Honestly this issue is looking to be the start of something great as Lemire has the entirety of the Marvel Cosmic section to play with and at his disposal. It's pleasing to see this villain handled with such care and passion and see him return to his own playing field once more. |

Thanos (2016) #2 |
Jun 19, 2017 |
But I think what works most about this issue and is really impressive is Lemire manages to find a way to humanize Thanos without compromising his character or writing him out of character proving this series and this character truly do have more layers to them then appears. |

The Jetsons (2017) #1 |
Nov 4, 2017 |
I guess what I admired, respected, and loved more about this then when I read Flintstones was that I actually had fun with it. I am thoroughly engaged in this story and am eagerly awaiting to see where it goes. The artwork is smooth and sharp, and the writing is quick witted and solid if it continues like this we could be looking at potentially the best miniseries of this year. |

Flash (2016) #36 |
Dec 26, 2017 |
Flash continues to excel and strive where others fall short in one simple regard. Being true to itself while Marvel is constantly changing their slate or characters to match the ever growing and expanding MCU. Or other series may cater to other forms of media like film or tv. One thing that is constant about Flash is that Flash will continue to be Flash. Keeping true to it's always present light but fun tone Flash has heart in spades and that is ultimately it's greatest strength among impressive art and excellent writing as well. That is what truly makes it a cut above the rest when in comparison to other Rebirth titles. |

Justice League: No Justice #4 |
May 31, 2018 |
I think as an event series this one mostly works. Again it becomes very obvious towards the tail end of it that unfortunately as good of writers that Snyder and Williamson are 4 issues is just too constraining and constricting for a story this size and it leaves a lot of beloved characters here just forgotten about and just here effectively leaving them as just footnotes. |

Ben Reilly: The Scarlet Spider #1 |
Jul 30, 2017 |
All I can say is as a fan of the character and one of the few who actually liked Clone Saga I'm looking forward to where this goes in the future. This is a great start for what could potentially be one of my favorite Marvel titles going forward. |

Spirits of Vengeance (2017) #2 |
Nov 14, 2017 |
A solid follow-up issue that moves just as fast paced as its predecessor but ultimately not enough happens here for me to give it a higher rating. However thats not to say its a bad issue its actually quite the contrary was does happen is exciting and shows promise for the future. Looking forward to issue 3. |

The Ruff & Reddy Show #1 |
Nov 4, 2017 |
Honestly for the most part Id say yes. Similar to the way that Who Framed Roger Rabbit or this years Banana Splits/Suicide Squad crossover(which I do plan on reviewing eventually) played out. DC really has a way with taking tired, obsolete properties and making them relevant and modern in ways that are refreshing and feel very much in line of the original vein of the show. The original show meets reality that could either work or not work but because of the way its written it genuinely does. The artwork is abstract looking and kinda has a surreal vibe to it and is always interesting to look at and for a starting issue which had to reintroduce these readers to fans and non fans alike it had a lot of ground to cover and I felt it did it fairly well. It is very accessible to newcomers while also being very true and faithful to old school fans alike. For a first issue I am excited as well intrigued to see where this goes. Ruff and Reddy are back indeed. |

Avengers (2018) #1 |
May 8, 2018 |
All in all, it's an average set up issue to what I hope will be an amazing Avengers run and not just another hollow relaunch. Fan service goes a long way, but here's to hoping the newest relaunch of The World's Mightiest Heroes has more to offer than just fan service. |

Future Quest Presents #3 |
Oct 20, 2017 |
What a waste of potential I still have the utmost respect for both of these fine talented men but towards the end of the issue it became very clear that they just wanted to wrap things up and rather than exploring some of the more interesting themes they had previously brought up they had to give us a half assed, half baked rushed out ending that just honestly feels incomplete and unsatisfying. |

Average at best but still painfully bland and woefully mediocre. One or two interesting concepts and ideas are brought up during this but unfortunately are never explored hopefully this picks up later because as of right now it's nothing special which is a damn shame. Also remember guys 86753o9. |

Moon Knight (2017) #189 |
Dec 3, 2017 |
Not a bad issue by any stretch and certainly not devoid of merit and is not without entertainment value but that still doesn't change the fact that it is at it's core filler and nothing more. Still given the cliffhanger we're teased with at the end of the issue I am still eagerly awaiting and very excited to see where Bemis takes this series. |
