Whether you have invested interest as a longtime fan or exploring these characters for the very first time, Spirits of Vengeance, re-envisioned by brilliant imagination of Victor Gischler and company is absolutely addicting and a true standout from the rest of Marvel's current comic line. All in all a solid issue. Nothing groundbreaking but continues it's fast pace, awesome action sequences, and fun team dynamic to deliver yet another fun issue. I'm in for the ride and still invested and intrigued on where this series goes. Read Full Review
A war between heaven and hell has been brewing for a long time, Spirits of Vengeance focuses on the possibility of something that could turn the tide of that war and what kind of impact it would have. I had problems with both the writing and art and cannot imagine this becoming a top seller for Marvel, but there is enough going on to keep devoted fans of the characters on board. If you're a big fan of Johnny Blaze, Blade, or the Hellstrom siblings you've probably already checked this out. If you're not a pre-existing fan of these characters, you may be better off finding older comics featuring them in the back issue bins instead of starting here. Read Full Review
Spirits Of Vengeance is an important book for Marvel, learning that it's now a mini-series is unfortunate. Other than Doctor Strange, this is a corner of the 616 we rarely get to journey through. Even if Ghost Rider and Blade get their own series, SOV will be sincerely missed. Read Full Review
I still cant recommend this issue. #2 was a combusting mess, and this one is more coherent and focused. However, its story elements just dont jive together, it still doesnt use its characters enough, and the art is inconsistent in quality. I want to like it, but I cant. Give it a pass. Read Full Review
This issue was a very good one. And Frankly I wish more & more that this will turn as a ongoing. Because that so good.
The part about daimon, Blaze & the scared demon is too fun, and even if I didn't like Razor look, I have to tell she's smart & rule !
The part about Necrodamus is interesting for having more clew about the Juda's silver.
And the Part with Satanna & Blaze is funny & good too.
Man I love this team.
Cover - I didn't like the regular with Razor. But luckily I find the variant with ghost rider. So I didn't care that didn't represent what I read inside 2/2
Writing - Very fun. For those who didn't try, wait for the TPB you will not regret it. 3/3
Arts - Baldeon is good (Well except Razor et more
Necrodamus exposits on his villainous plot at tiresome length and the heroes get embarrassed by Ravan. We now know far more than we need to about the baddies; meanwhile the sentence "the Spirit of Vengeance heroes are awesome because …" remains disastrously incomplete. David Baldeón's passionate artwork does do a bit to redeem Victor Gischler's flawed script, but the visuals are a long way from perfect. An attempt to cram every panel with full-page-splash levels of detail and awesomeness backfires, leaving the action scenes hard to follow and the quieter scenes dull. This title still has enough potential to (barely) make it to average, but the odds of pulling something memorable out of this mess are shrinking fast.
