Im a DC guy. I’ve been following DC so close for the last 2.5 years reading so much. But throughout the past couple months, I’ve been catching up on my Marvel and one thing I’ve come to enjoy; it’s Thanos! I’ve read every issue and it’s just been getting better and better.

This issue is not the best issue of the run BUT it’s still great! We get a battle with the Silver Surfer that has mjolnier! Amazing! Hulk even jumps in to try to take down the Surfer, but he can’t.

The Surfer holds his own pretty well but honestly, who could stop two Thanos’? I mean come on! A sneak attack impale worse than Vlad; it’s name sake! King Thanos impales both Banner and The Surfer at the same time with the flame sword. Rips off his arm with the hammer attached and uses the hammer with arm attached to beat his head in! I haven’t felt a fight this gruesome since Daredevil season 1 when Kingpin smashes that guys head in with a car door.... REPEATEDLY

Point is: the issue was intense, insane, and a quick read.. like 5 minutes max! I only wish we had more Cosmic Ghost Rider. Oh well, he’s getting his own book anyway. Regardless of company loyalties, everyone should be reading this book. Go back to issue 1 and binge it like Netflix. NOW!

um...that's a lot of liberal propaganda.

The ultimate dream of liberal propaganda merchant must be to get people to buy their own propaganda. Here is an example. A very average story with (as usual) white people portrayed as evil racists and the liberal media lap it up. It's just not very good, but the barrage of hype surrounding the comic is such that weak minded liberals buy it.

Meh.

Nothing special about it in my opinion. Not at all a bad story, but also not an amazing one.

It's not supposed to do anything phenomenal; it's just to establish a relationship between Laura and Amber, which it doe well.

It's alright.

This series is awesome. But this issue is breaking what I deem to be continuity. Why would the troopers turn on Vader when a Jedi names him as Anakin? Why would Vader destroy the list of force sensitive? Dude, killed younglings in episode 3! Shit, he destroyed a whole village 3 issues ago. Maybe someone else can set me straight and explain why he'd destroy the list. Otherwise, this issue gets a low rating. You cannot pussyfoot around with the most badass character ever. more

Darth Vader is a real badass, nothing to say !

Incredible issue. It honestly feels like Charles Soule is getting stronger and stronger as this comic goes. Its brings an interesting end to this story and Darth Vader continues to evolve as he grows as a Sith. I love this comic.

I'm not going to lie; I'm more a DC guy. Lately, I've been trying my best to get caught up with Marvel since Legacy has happened. My point: this BOOK, not just this issue, this BOOK, is freakin' amazing!

This story is imaginative, so dang creative, and leaves you wanting more. This writing, especially since issue 13, has been great. Don't get me wrong, I've now read all issues of this series and they are all pretty dang good!

But, let's recap:

Thanos is pulled to the future by the Cosmic Ghost Rider who is commanded by future Thanos himself. Thanos has literally laid waste to almost everything. The "boy", as young Thanos is called, was drug there by the COSMIC FREAKIN' GHOST RIDER! Which we find out is Frank freakin' Castle... who has a dog... which is actually the freakin' Hulk!!!

Did you read what I said? How could you not want to read this after that sentence?

Old Thanos needs the help of Young Thanos to find lady death. Well, this issue gives us the back story of how Frank Castle became the Cosmic Ghost Rider, the deals he made, and it actually makes sense. It is done SOOOO well.

Frank makes a deal with Mephisto, to later make a deal with Galactus, to later make a deal with Old Thanos... it's just nuts!!!! And the art is fantastic throughout all of this.

We find out that the Fallen One, who young and old Thanos are trying to take down, is The Silver Surfer. And he's been waiting all this time to stop Thanos by collecting everything he can, including the annihilation wave and Thor's hammer!

This is by far, the best ongoing in Marvel or DC. If you're not reading this, you have too stop everything and start right now! Read the entire thing from issue 1.... but if you can't, start at 13 for this story arc.

Two words that tells you all you need to know about the sheer awesomemess of this issue: ZOMBIE. SLOTH.

I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT I JUST GOT AROUND TO READING THIS!
Phenomenal story. Excellent in the best sense of the word. The whole story arc was fantastic. The story is so compelling. I love the characters more than ever. I love Gabby (Honey Badger) SO MUCH! She's so cute, and quite naive, but she's not stupid. The final page of this issue damn near brought me to tears.
And that panel where Daken boops Gabby's nose had me DEAD lol.
Every issue of this series has been sensational. There's too much to say about it. The conclusion was wonderful.
10 out of 10. Great job by Tom Taylor and Juan Cabal. more

We begin with Lightening getting his team caught up and trying to figure out how to save some of the other teams. We again learn that when one hero dies or is frozen, another one is unfrozen somewhere else.

Then we jump to the hospital where the 5th pyramid thingy shows up. Lucky us, in the hospital with Jarvis! It looks like purple ghosts are all over the place.

So Nadia and Beast decide to split up and help Jarvis while also helping the people in the hospital. Nadia tries to sacrifice herself BUT it won't let her touch the pyramid thingy. So, she shrinks down with Beast, who was already inside Jarvis to inject that virus and get it out of him.

While inside Jarvis, we see his mind and all interactions with all Avengers throughout the years. He's seen them all!

The safe Jarvis and enlarge to find Voyager ready to sacrifice herself to touch the pyramid thingy but Jarvis screams No!!!

We realize that Voyager wasn't actually a retconn! Jarvis is the only one that truly remembers that she was never an avenger because he was knocked out when she arrived and his memories were not altered like everyone else's. After seeing Jarvis' memories, Beast believes him.

This weekly run on "No Surrender" has been fun. It's what a team book should be. The best part is: we aren't even getting the big guns and it's still fun.

And, I love the fake retcon. That is the first time I ever was led to believe for the last 8 issues that we have this new character that we are going to decide has always been there only to find out NOPE not the case. Excellent writing! Even the return of Banner Hulk has been teased.

This weekly Avengers book has been a great pull that's tons of fun with pretty great art each week. As a DC guy myself, it gets me jealous to see how a team book should be written unlike JLA or JL right now...

Go grab a copy. Better yet, get the entire arc! You'll love it!

The story is still nice, but this issue failed in my opinion. It definitely adds to the overall story and thickens the plot, but it's just poor; this is mainly because the dialogues/monologues come across as annoying, simply because they tell what we can already see, making it read like a children's book.
The plot twist had me fucked up in a good way though. I'm definitely picking up the next issue, but this one just wasn't it. more

Final issue? Well, thank God.

Gets a 2 point deduction from my actual score just for saying something is better than The Cure. (PS. Nothing is better than The Cure)

Gets a 0.5 point bonus for punching Hitler.



The dialogue goes from incredibly bad to outright cringe-y at times, with its only decent point being the art by Quinones.

I men, you got some gems like:

"What in the holy menstruation are you doing here?"

"Oh for Princess Leia's sake, not you too!"

"Chico, you look mad familiar..."



You also get a terrible author self-insertion, and the author decides to do away with a relationship in the worst possible manner, with America breaking up with her girlfriend because she wants to move away for college, which makes no sense since America's powers include teletransportation!



This comic is so bad, that the more I think about it, the worse it gets and the lower the score I end up giving it.



Surely it will find its fans, just like Mockingbird, Patsy Walker, Great Lake Avengers and other titles have found their fans, just wondering if it will find more fans than the titles I mentioned in order to have enough support and not be canceled 6-8 issues down the road. I mean, hey, maybe this time Marvel will find an audience that actually buys the comic! more

I'm bored.
This shit is confusing, and not in a good way. Milk Wars is confusing in a great way. Dark Nights Metal is confusing in the worst way.
Why are we taking it from Detective Chimp's perspective? What does he have to do with anything? He's not an interesting character in the least, so why would he be important here? What the fuck is Earth 53, and why is it an ape planet? These are questions that I don't even need an answer to; I just want the story to be over with.
The story just seems to have lost direction; like it's being made up as they go. I'm tired of this story.
Thank God there's only one issue left.
I wouldn't have a problem if this writing was in a Young Animal story, where you should expect things to get pretty wild, but it has no place in Dark Nights Metal, where things are supposed to be taken seriously. more

This story is still going strong.

We finally have the origin of the Ghost Rider, which is actually really interesting, and we saw the fight between the Thanoses and The Fallen One. While the fight isn't over, I feel like this first part was pretty short; I wish it was longer. But that final panel, though.

Marvel really has me fucked all the way up with this Thanos run. It's mad like the Titan.

I really like this story and the direction in which it's going. I like how it takes the story from a different character's perspective in each issue; it makes them more interesting, while providing exposition as to what led to the present situation.

I just feel like the constant Hulk teasing is getting a bit redundant. We know that it's him; you can stop now.

That's what I was thinking while reading this. It was weird and fun. And weird. It kept verbal exposition to a minimum and kept the mood light and funny without destroying the personality of Batman. Did I mention that it was weird?

Great read. Fantastic direction.

Goddamn, this story was weird. And fun. So much fun. I admit, I'm not really a fan of Doom Patrol, but after this, I'm definitely checking out their other stories. The team seems to have a dynamic, a chemistry between characters that is lacking in other comics. I still don't know the characters well enough, but this is what I like in a comic book; the characters had clear personalities, the verbal exposition was kept to a minimum, and the story was unique. Excellent book.

And don't get me started on the art, yo. The visuals kept me entertained throughout the reading, and it worked so well with the story. It was implemented appropriately, and made this book what it is.

Do yourself a favor and read this.

I really like this story. More than that, I like the storytelling approach. Told with added narration from Lightning, a lesser known superhero, it successfully shows how serious the situation is, while introducing us to the character of Lightning himself, who is a pretty likeable guy.

I also like their handling of Lightning as a gay character; we know that he's gay, but it's not forced down our throats like it was with the character of America Chavez.

Great book, a step in the right direction for Marvel. Hopefully, they can keep this quality of writing going. more

putrid art and maybe the seeds of a decent WW story surrounded by bits and pieces of a writer just flailing away at trying to be impressive. ever seen one of those museum art pieces where the artist just flung paint onto a canvas and made money? this is like that. maybe I'm just not cultured enough.

For a penultimate issue in this event, I'm shocked at how after reading it, it just feels like Snyder is spinning his wheels but going nowhere. Other than a cameo by Martian Manhunter and some Dark Wonder Women, nothing in this issue felt that exciting. Also I read Capullo and Millar's Reborn mini-series, and it has way too many similarities. We also still don't know sh%t about Barbatos even though he's supposed to be the guy pulling all the strings. Issue 6 better be a whopper or this event really fizzled out. I will say that almost all the one-shots tied to Metal have been excellent and almost a better read than the main event due to solid character development. more

I liked the series a bit at first, but the writing just seems to be getting more and more lazy. There's too much detail in the dialogue, so much so that, instead of complementing the actions (drawing style and overall visual art) of the characters, it just overwhelms the whole thing. The story's explanations are too explicit, in that they tell you everything that's happening, instead of letting you see it for yourself. It's writing like a novel instead of a *graphic* novel.
The whole Dark Multiverse concept never really did it for me, but I was curious to see how they'd handle it. I'm still not too much of a fan, but it's pretty cool, I guess.

This issue also added very little to the story. There was almost no progression in the plot, which made it all the more a frustrating read; no reward after the ordeal. It was almost like a filler book. I did not like this book at all. more

OHHHHHHH MYYYYYY GODDDDD!!!! The last few pages of this book took my freaking breath away!!!! Oh My God!!!! What a reveal!! God Damn it! Ok need to cool down a bit. Sorry......just fresh from reading Thanos #15.

Ok lets start from the basics.

The colouring in this book is soooo goood u will drool when u even see Thanos' face. Its soooo beautiful. Great work from Antonio Fabela! Feel so happy when someone like Geoff Shaw understands how an art of a character and the cosmic environment should look like.

Second of all. As always, great writing from Donny Cates! He did a great job in differentiating both the old and young Thanos and not make them sound familiar. I am also starting to like the Cosmic Ghost Rider, at first i felt his tone was off but now he fits to the story pretty well and i belief his backstory becomes bigger in the next issue and boy the reveal of Cosmic Ghost Rider's identity at the final page literally blew my mind. Not as much as another great reveal of the "Fallen One" which is a page earlier then that Cosmic Ghost Rider reveal. The art on the "Fallen One" literally made me fall in love with this book and made me give it a 10/10.

Great Cosmic story!!! Loved it!! Keep it up Donny Cates and Geoff Shaw. We love you!!!
