This was a great conclusion to the Loki Sorcerer Supreme storyline and the crisp dialogue and great visuals tell a story of consequence and cost that I want to see continue. Read Full Review
Doctor Strange under Cates, Walta, and Bellaire is becoming one of Marvels strongest books once again. With a great narrative full of arrogant yet well-meaning protagonists, it has been providing a consistently absorbing, fun, and visually creative experience for these past few issues. Hopefully that will continue through Damnation. In any case, this issue comes highly recommended. Give it a read. Read Full Review
A lot has been said recently regarding the status quo of Marvel and how so many of their books lack quality. There is some validity in that claim but there is also reason to be hopeful for the future and this series is one of the biggest reasons. Both Donny Cates and Gabriel Hernandez Walta are bringing fresh ideas to the world of comics so when you put two creators like that together magic can happen. Fittingly with this book that is exactly what has occurred. Read Full Review
Even as enjoyable as the Jason Aaron/Chris Bachalo run was, I'm not sure I expected Doctor Strange to emerge as one of the biggest success stories of Marvel Legacy. Yet here we are, with issue #385 providing a satisfying cap to a thoroughly enjoyable debut for the new team. Read Full Review
Winning has never felt so empty, has it? How do you move forward knowing that you were no better than Loki of all people? The action was satisfying, on top of the treat of never knowing what was going to actually happen till it did. The next issue should surely shake things up as Stephen starts to pick up the pieces of what he is left with. Read Full Review
Overall this was an overall solid issue with lots of great action and some really well written reveals. This issue also is extremely fast paced and reads fast but doesn't fail to deliver on any of its big moments because of this though. The art is still on par with previous issues and the film fantasy pallets used by colorist Jordie Belaire fits the tone of the book perfectly. Read Full Review
Doctor Strange has a good bit of momentum heading into Damnation, and it will be interesting to see how Loki's foreshadowing plays out. Read Full Review
A fun conclusion to the 'Loki: Sorcerer Supreme' arc, and a good set up for the series as it goes forward. Read Full Review
The colors are a bit muddy in a way that mutes some of the visual energy, but Doctor Strange is still among Marvel's best-looking comics. Read Full Review
Perfect. Bats is a very good boy.
This is such a great ending to the run. The art creates a perfect look and atmosphere. There is plenty of action and drama to it. This is an arc that I would recommend reading for sure.
Awesome Ending!!!!
great issue, sad to see loki gone tho
Love the ending! I'll miss one great character, but we get a new favourite.
A very nice ending. Logical with loki been the trickster.
Their is some sad part but making Strange story better. And there also some part a little to easy (The return of the magic)
I still think loki deserve Strange role as new sorcerer supreme. I will miss him.
Cover - I like Del Mondo, but this one is not great. And give not a full trusty part of the story. 1/2
Writing - Impressive. Sad that the Damned crossover scares me (Like hell ! ^^) 3/3
Arts - Not great, but very nice for this story. And love the ghost dog. 2.5/3
Feeling - I didn't regret trying this arc even if I was a little deceived too ! ^^ 2/2
Loki and Strange save the world, restore magic, and put the Cloak of Levitation (with all the rest of the Sorcerer Supreme responsibilities) back on Stephen's shoulders. Doctor Strange's success comes with fearsome costs. It's a decent ending, but the script opens a can of ambiguous worms regarding Loki's motivations and doesn't really put it to bed in a satisfying way. Solid art and high stakes keep this issue from getting disappointing, but the ambiguity anchors it at "good" without crossing over into "great."
Nothing groundbreaking but a very pleasing arc!
I thought this was a good issue. The ending did kind of leave me a bit underwhelmed. It just felt like the reasons were a little rushed. Overall, the art and better moments of the comic made up for it and there were a lot of hints about things to come in the Marvel U.
It was ok. I'm frustrated by it. Nothing was really explained. Why is the void so hard to beat? How can Loki jumpstart magic, rip souls apart, (etc.) yet he's doing this now? Why?
It just seemed like a lazy way to just randomly give magic back to everyone. I liked the premise. And if Loki had a more legitimate reason to trick Strange then I think I'd be more accepting of it all.
Don’t get the acclaim for this run. A very mediocre beginning for Cates with a very weird looking Stephen Strange.
Loki is such an overexposed character right now, and this also features the long awaited return of... The Sentry and The Void, two of Marcel’s worst characters.
This series collapsed since Aaron left and the upcoming cosmic Strange in space run by Mark Waid does not look promising.
