If you hadn't guessed already from the cover, Doctor Strange merges with The Void, whom he had locked in his Sanctum Sanctorum, in hopes of defeating Loki. I cannot wait to see where Coates takes us in the following months to come, exit light and enter The Void. Read Full Review
The finale of this arc is going to have to pull out all the stops here and I don't think it will disappoint. I do wonder if the balance of humor may suffer when the final confrontation is played out. I hope not as its been a roller-coaster so far and perfectly balanced. Like a carefully crafted spell, it has all the right ingredients to keep us in its thrall. Read Full Review
For the art and for Cates' already strong authorial voice becoming even more distinctive, it's hard not to be excited for the rest of Cates' run. Read Full Review
Continuing to enjoy this story arc for Strange and Loki and finding the extremes the two of them are going to highly entertaining but I really want to know what the final cost will be for Stephen. Read Full Review
Doctor Strange #384 is a fun start to the battle of Strange vs. Loki. It takes some wild twists and turns, and the next issue looks to only be better based on the finale to this one. I highly recommend this one. Cates, Walta, and Bellaire are a powerful team. Pick it up. Read Full Review
Magic has truly taken on a deeper meaning through this volume of Doctor Strange. This story arc? That takes the price of magic and paying your tab to a whole new level. The events of Doctor Strange #384 probably proved why the Vishanti made the decision they did at the end of that tournament. Read Full Review
What price will Strange pay for tapping into this level of power? That fuels an issue balanced out by equal parts magical spectacle, humorous banter and a dramatic look at a man always paving his road to hell with good intentions. Read Full Review
Doctor Strange is a must-read title for Marvel Comics, with exceptional writing and beautifulartwork. Even if you are not a fan of the SorcererSupreme you will enjoy it. Donny Cates is quickly becoming one of the best writers in comics. With fantastic creator-ownedbooks like God Country and Baby Teeth coupled with his fantastic start of a new story arc in Thanos, Cates is showing his skills as an exceptional writer. You also cannot go wrong with an artist likeGabriel Hernandez Walta, whose character details and panel layouts that can tell a story without words, combined with Jordie Bellaire's beautiful colors. You really are missing out if you're not reading Doctor Strange. Read Full Review
Doctor Strangecontinues to be one of Marvel's strongest and most intriguing ongoing titles. I genuinely can't wait to see how Loki and Zelma deal with the horror that Stephen unleashed at the end of this issue, as well as discovering the price Stephen will have to pay following his heavy use of magic! If you haven't discovered this title yet, I would highly recommend picking it up! Read Full Review
It's an amazing time for Doctor Strange fandom. Donny Cates' bag of tricks and ideas is clearly very deep. Walta and Bellaire build even more on the major artistic accomplishment that was Vision. Read Full Review
Stephen Strange brings this fight home when his anger against Loki reaches its peak. Loki acts like Strange is nothing more than a nuisance. And the level of destruction these two cause as they play out their power trip is incomprehensible. A great issue that takes us to another dimension of magic as only Mighty Marvel can tell the tale. Just when Loki thinks he's gained the upper hand" to be continued. ***1/2 (8.8 rating) Read Full Review
Blowed my mind away! Great story, excellent artwork! This issue is just perfect.
Amazing. No other words from me. One of the few Legacy titles that are actually worth it.
Keeps getting better and better. I didn't cared about Doctor Strange and now this is on the top of my list thanks to Cates story and Walta who is producing his best art right now. Along with Bellaire's colors, it has a very unique and beautiful look to it.
Possibly the first time Ive yelled out loud while reading a comic.
Another awesome read. I really like this story.
Doc Strange hurls all his stolen Asgardian power at Loki, backed by a few clever/dangerous twists. It's all fun and games until the stakes hop abruptly into the world-destroying tier at the end. Gabriel Hernandez Walta's art looks superb and Donny Cates's character work is fine. I worry about the relationship between this volume and the last one. When the Empirikul became an existential threat to all of magic, Stephen didn't do as much or risk as much as he's doing now. And remember, his current motivation is basically "the Vishanti gave my job to Loki and I bungled the transition." It looks terribly petty of him to unleash … what he's unleashed … over that.
This seems a bit out of character for Stephen, especially the ending, he's being outrageously reckless.
I didn't like it. Not because it bad. No this his a good story. But very dark at the end. Too dark for me.
I tired with marvel making his heroes been some real jerk sometime. How do they expect we like them after ?
And Doctor Strange make a very good case at been a real jerk.
Poor sentry (Yep the writer succeed to make me complain him).
Poor Loky (I liked him right away in the starting of this arc, and now It's bigger than never. He didn't deserve that.
I will only brought the next issue to see how he will deal with this ... Hoping he will not loose the sorcerer supreme title.
Cover - Well done I trusted that was a symbiote (Like Venom) ... But it's worse and happen at the end 2/2
Writing - A very go more
I'm sorry, but for me this was terrible and completely ignores the established Doctor Strange character. I can't overlook this.
