While it might not have a whole lot to do with the actual plot of Futures End, from what I can tell, this is a serviceable addition to this months event. Perhaps not key in the overall tableau of Futures End, but a must read for anyone completely sold on Snyder's take on Batman.

Really solid issue of Batman Eternal this week! The last few issues have been very light on Batman himself. It was nice to have him come back into focus and to have the record set straight on a few questions the audience may have had concerning him and Bard. One of the better reads from the series in a while. It leaves some good hooks in there, provides more clues and mysteries for the readers to puzzle out while we wait for next Wednesday.

Overall, Batman Eternal #25 is a solid entry in the Eternal saga! This particular issue made some solid progress. It's certainly one to watch for on shelves and feels like we're being set up for some good status quo changes and meaningful character development.

While otherwise meaningless in the grander context of the Futures End event, I found myself enjoying the fight sequences of this book with a few minor annoyances.

This is the right way to bring Booster Gold back to the fold. Dan Jurgens really hit this one out of the park and has some jaw dropping revelations to keep fans guessing. It's a fun romp through time that leaves you with so many questions and wanting to see more. Luckily for our entertainment, it seems Boosters story will continue "where worlds and futures end."

None of my personal gripes are preventing me from enjoying the story, and I do look forward to see how this unfolds. But I do worry that DC might have sent the wrong message for anyone looking for the right hop on point.

It's a shame the book doesn't do a whole lot to sell the involvement of the characters wrapped up in this story nor does it deep dive on the interesting implications of Mera and Flashpoint Aquaman meeting one another. A lot of my favorite characters are on display here, but it's a light read that's hard to recommend at the price point.

While the end didn't quite sit well with me as a reader, that seems to be the intent. Even the gang leader, whose main goal was to deal the Icarus, seems to be caught off guard by this news when we see him demanding to know what happened. The inconclusiveness of what exactly happened may potentially feed directly into future story lines of this team's run. Whether that's the plan or not, I personally found myself flummoxed and let down by the whole ordeal at the end of this arc.

If you're dying to know what future lies in store for The Riddler and some players in the recent Detectice Comics Annual #3, then this is a passable read. Otherwise " skip it.

Without saying too much, this book is a victory lap. It's Jeff Lemire and Andrea Sorentino's last issue on Green Arrow and they pull out all the stops. They show exciting new directions for characters they created and made us love. They make great use of the concepts they brought to the Green Arrow mythos. They then show you how to make all of these elements go to work in an exciting and satisfying way for the readers to enjoy. What are you still doing here? Shut up and go read this book if you haven't yet!

The issue has a pretty predictable resolution. And as it turns out: I was right to be skeptical of this story in my review last week. I wasn't sure if this two-parter would have any actual ties to the main Futures End story arc. The end here leads me to believe I was correct in my assumptions. It ends and not much is lost or gained. Now what this story does accomplish is showing us the current state of the Justice League. They're shown to be very careful, cautious and bigger than ever.

The Justice League United has arrived, not just as a team, but as a book that provides a look into the themes and character traits we'll be exploring within its pages. Issue #4 stands as a mission statement for the direction of Lemire's run on the book. I'm hooked and can't wait to see what this team accomplishes in their next adventures!

Again, if you're following the main plot thread of Futures End, here's a book that seems essential by proxy of it being written by one of the minds behind the overall Futures End event. But I'm not sure I'm convinced on weather this will play out further into the main Futures End story line. We'll see next week.

Klarion is a lot of fun, but also really vague and confusing. I'm okay with things being fast paced and out of the ordinary with no explanation, but given the track record of the writer, I'm hoping it doesn't devolve to the usual ham-fisted plot points that are hand waved off and glossed over as the story moves forward.

Overall, the story and art is completely average and only serves to please Phantom Stranger fans as it really doesn't add anything new to the series, only that The Phantom Stranger finally has a good day for once. The series doesn't really feel complete, with unfinished plot points that look like they will never be resolved.

For what it's worth, I did look up what an actual Roche Limit is because of this story. Naming a book that screams with intent that this is a real concept within some domain of physics. Likely, “Roche Limit's” story will be written to reflect this actual phenomenon. Knowing this after reading the issue does work for it, because I can see the set up they're going for. That doesn't make me feel any less in the middle of the road. I look forward to seeing what else “Roche Limit” brings to the table next month. I guess you could say it's pulled me into its gravitational pull and I have no other choice but to see this story out.

It starts with a pretty decent issue of seemingly obvious developments, and then takes them to a place so screamingly crazy that you really hope there's a bite to go with the ending's bark. Read this for the ending. It's the best, craziest part.

I now know who G.I. Zombie is, what he's capable of and why it's the coolest thing around. My hat is off to Jimmy Palomiotti and Justin Gray. They have written a character who knows how to party.

This is a must read for Superman and Shazam fans.

I love and appreciate the writing and art put into this issue, but must cast a word of caution to anyone on the fence about this particular issue. If you're not into Morrison's brand of weird, don't bother. But if you're into that; this issue welcomes you with open arms.

Yet another week and here I am putting Future's End down feeling unfulfilled. Part of me has to wonder if come September when DC does its line wide Future's End month will we be seeing this series pick up.

I said it last week, and I'll say it again: DC is clearly having the writers bide their time for September's big crossover Futures End event. You can really tell it's affecting the quality of this book. Sure, there are good bits and pieces but they're so few and far between that you forget about them once you find a new morsel to chew on.

The tension building this week goes a long way to revitalize my interest in the series. It was really rewarding to see the story tie two plots, that I previously presumed were unrelated, together with an actual threat. One week left until September. I think we'll get the penultimate issue of Futures End that will truly blow the series wide open and make this the fun read I know it has the potential to be.

For anyone invested in the “Futures End” series, this is a pretty good issue with some good character bits. What's light on action is rewarding on character interaction.

This issue is character heavy and exposition light. It's fast paced and moves really quickly. Really fun, but kind of melancholy considering the consequences and events that took place! I'm hoping that's not the last we see of the character we lost this issue.

All in all the story has a very "Pandora isn't available to participate in Futures End because this happened" feeling to it. Enjoyable read if you're way into comic action.

This might be the best first issue of a horror series I've ever read. It gives you a hint of what the surrounding lore is without being an info dump. You see, but don't understand the horror that lies in waiting for the rest of the series. We have characters at the center of a clearly incredibly horrifying scenario just waiting to play out. Snyder and Jock have outdone themselves. “Wytches” has potential to be one of the greatest horror series' in years.
