Birds Of Prey (2011) #33 |
Jul 11, 2014 |
Despite the fact that this is ending in a month, it doesn't feel as though Birds of Prey will be able to wrap up with a satisfying conclusion to the various stories and plotlines that have developed since the start of The New 52. All that has been produced from this issue is clumsy exposition and sloppy art. Most of all, this issue contains first sounds of the death rattle Birds of Prey has had coming for months. |

Green Arrow (2011) #27 |
Jan 13, 2014 |
Any Lemire story has the potential to be great, but this single issue will likely be remembered as one of the hiccups in his larger Green Arrow story. |

Earth 2 #19 |
Jan 12, 2014 |
Despite the problems Earth 2 will have pretty soon with how bloated its getting, it still remains one of the best books DC is releasing right now. If youre not reading it now, you should start immediately. |

Superman / Wonder Woman (2013) #3 |
Dec 16, 2013 |
If youre not already reading Superman/Wonder Woman, start immediately because its only three issues in. Its very easy to just jump right into and you wont regret it. |

Birds Of Prey (2011) #25 |
Nov 23, 2013 |
If theres any non a-list character that deserved a Zero Year tie-in it would be Black Canary. Its great to see her getting more attention and the care that many characters like her deserve. Birds of Prey #25 is a truly enjoyable book on all levels, both in illustration and writing. Its a definite buy if youre a fan of Pretty Bird. |

Superman / Wonder Woman (2013) #1 |
Oct 10, 2013 |
Great. Great, great, great. If this is a taste of what's to come, I can't wait for next month, and every month coming. Charles Soule and Tony S. Daniels give a powerful first issue with lots of great hooks and a lot for fans to love. Go pick this up. |

Batman: Black and White (2013) #2 |
Oct 8, 2013 |
Despite some rather lacklust stories this month, this issue pulls together exceedingly well at the end with "Winter's End" and "A Place In Between", I would definitely say this issue is worth picking up for those two stories alone. |

Green Arrow (2011) #24 |
Oct 7, 2013 |
This was a fairly mediocre issue made only somewhat cool by the always ever enjoyable art from Andrea. Hopefully Lemire will start picking it up more and more, hopefully he won't get bogged down with too many side characters, and show people what a truly great Green Arrow story can be like. |

Aquaman (2011) #23.2 |
Sep 28, 2013 |
Probably one of the weaker Villains Month issues I've read so far, the art is fair but the meat of the book is fairly unsubstantial and all they do is bait you with ideas that Ocean Master might, kind of, sort of, become something other than a villain in the future. I wouldn't recommend it. |

Action Comics (2011) #23.2 |
Sep 21, 2013 |
Action Comics #23.2: Zod has a few flaws here and there, but overall it's a fairly strong addiction to Villains Month and a good way to give Nu52 Zod his introduction. |

Justice League of America (2013) #7.3 |
Sep 21, 2013 |
While the new mythos of The Shadow Thief might not be the most inspired. It's still a good issue and a fun read. Definitely something worth picking up. |

Green Arrow (2011) #23.1 |
Sep 13, 2013 |
Count Vertigo will likely end up being one of the weaker issues to come out this month and won't be a necessary issue for anyone looking to get into the current run of Green Arrow. There's nothing offensively bad with this issue, there's just not a lot that it brings to the table and it ends up feeling a bit hollow. The art is really nice to look at but as the old saying goes, “What's a good plate with nothing on it?” Or “What's a good Count with nothing to count on.” |

Justice League of America (2013) #7.1 |
Sep 9, 2013 |
This one-off I would only suggest to hardcore Deadshot fans who want to know more about his sordid past, though even then I'm not sure it's something worth going out to buy. It's something you'd pick up on a whim, read, bag, and think “well that was all kinds of OK!” |

Batman: Black and White (2013) #1 |
Sep 6, 2013 |
Overall I would say issue #1 of Batman Black and White is a fairly strong start, a couple missteps here and there but if they can keep a good momentum going on the series it could do quite well and maybe even become ongoing or semi-ongoing, do an larger issue every two months or so. And I hope DC doesn't stop bringing in lesser known artists and writers for this series, it's great seeing lesser known guys like Michael Cho getting to draw The Dark Knight in their very own story. |
